Honestly, I really feel that Meethi has more of a soft spot for Adi than even Imlie does - from the start. Meethi ne humesha is mamle main Adi ko benefit of doubt diya - be it when they found out the truth or making Imlie understand that Adi was not the one to hold her back, when Imlie assumed that men hold women back from progress. Yes, Imlie ke consistent khabron se Mitthi ka opinion has changed, and it is expected mainly because she only heard that Adilie divorced and Adi got married to Malini - what were the circumstances around these 2 events occurring, Mitthi was not privy to any of it.
See that is the funny bit, despite not knowing anything, Mitthi could still understand and sympathize with Adi's pain, while Aparna being Adi's own mother and seeing him in pain and knowing that he is marrying Malini out of anger and spite, did nothing to stop the wedding (I do not consider her talking to all 3 characters involved as actively stopping the wedding, all that was only token level effort). Matlab jo maa apne bete ko ek room main lock kar sakti hai, so that he doesn't dance with Imlie - but she could not do anything to stop her son from making the biggest mistake of his life - oh well
On the bomb thing - I had a similar thought in my head that they may go down that route, but honesty right now I am game for anything to end this torture.
