I think TCT will be in charge of the show. They will have to finish SRGMPA - that may take a while. They will run for 36 episodes at least from the looks of it. That would mean at least till end of Feb. Then they will do the shortlisting for which the Captains are not reqd. April seems like a good target. Depends also on what slots are available on Sony weekends.

He's never been very mainstream. His biggest song in North is probably Chaiyya Chaiyya and it had SRK. Lagaan songs were also very popular. It helps that a lot of his 90's work had singers like Lata, Udit who are very loved by the masses. He's is huge with the Urban English speaking audience that's why he's big on Spotify (small user base) but has very little presence on YouTube.

That is entirely true.
I just don't find his work attractive as far as my musical sensibilities go. And I know of a lot of people who like him not because of his music but because they should like him. They can rarely name a third song after Roja Janeman and Vande Mataram (attributed to him).

You know he won a flimfare for Rangeela album( deserved since it brought a huge change in music industry) but that same year had DDLJ which imo is the most iconic album of past 2 decades.Someone recently asked me who Jatin-Lalit were 😭 and yet Bole chudiyan is one of the biggest song on YouTube.

Age has a way of creeping up on us... DDLJ is closer to 3 decades now, actually 😃

So here's my (unsolicited) opinion about Anushka, based on watching SRGMP Bangla Lil Champs 2013-2014 last weekend.

Compared to 2013 / 2014 she has moved from let's say X to 1.2 X or 1.5 X. In terms of skills. In the same period Arunita has moved from 2X to 8X.
