Okay this is strictly based on the new promo we have…again I’m not the best writer but here it is…it’s actually two parts…so it’s a TWO shot?
Yoon kehte nahi alvida….Part One
Abhimanyu was in a sour mood as he parked his bike at Birla Hospital. It should have been the happiest few days of his life seeing that he was about to get married but he hasn’t felt this angry and this heartbroken ever before. The girl that he loved, that he knew loved him just as much, refused to accept her feelings. He have tried everything. He went out of his character to even torment her and push her but her tiny self was made of steel and she didn’t break. So now he has decided to just ignore her and pretend like he was happy. He could see little cracks in her but what she didn’t know was that ignoring her was harder for him to do than for her to stand. But the cracks were starting to appear so maybe she will say something finally.
Even today, on his mehndi ceremony with Aarohi, he did everything to get her to finally open and putting up that act of being normal was exhausting for him. He knew the only way for him to calm down was to get himself busy with work until he gathered more energy to face her again. Akshara. I know you love me. I’ll get that out of you no matter what happens.
As soon as he entered the hospital, his phone rang. Maa. “Haan maa?”
“Abhi? Beta tum kahan ho? Mehndi ki rasam katham hote hue tum gyab hogaye. Ghar pe bhi nahi ho. Tum theek ho na?” Abhi could sense the worry in his mother’s voice.
“Haan maa. Main theek ho….” He felt a jitter run through him. It made him stop mid-sentence. This sudden feeling of something wrong happening. It’s probably his impending marriage to Aarohi. There was nothing right about that. He took a deep breath. “Haan maa. Main theek hoon. Hospital mein hoon. Duty pe. I’ll talk to you later okay?”
As he hanged up his phone, he saw an accident case brought in. The assistant doctor, Dr. Gupta was screaming to the nurses to take the patient to Trauma room 1 as this seemed like a critical case. He tried to get a look at the patient but he stopped midway as he felt another jitter. He felt like he was losing something important. Akshara. Of course he’s losing her as he’s about to marry his sister. And she won’t do anything about it.
“Dr. Birla! Dr. Birla! Please come in Trauma Room 1. This patient is very critical and Dr. Gupta needs your help. The patient is sinking.” Nurse Siya came running to him.
“Get my scrubs ready!” Abhi shouted as he put all his stuff on a desk and rushed to the room. He quickly washed his hands, put on his scrubs and mask. “Nurse Siya, please put my gloves on.” He said putting his hands up. As the nurse put on his gloves, he got a look at the patient and froze.
Laying there in front of him was a patient so badly bruised and covered in blood, he could barely make out her features but even then he knew who it was. He would have known who she was no matter what form she took on. Akshara. His Akshara. He tried to move to go to her but he was frozen in spot, his hands still raised.
“Dr. Birla! Please hurry! She’s sinking!” Dr. Gupta screamed. Abhi tried to take another step but he could not move an inch. He looked at the doctor and then Akshara.
“Nurse! Please go get Dr. Mahima! We need assistance right now before we lose this patient!” Dr. Gupta screamed.
Lose her? He can’t lose Akshara. He needs to go save her. He tried to move again but was still frozen. Just then he heard the heart rate monitor making a loud beeping sound. He knew the sound too well. But he also knew Akshara’s heart has not stopped. Not his Akshu’s. Because all of a sudden he could feel his own heart thumping inside his chest. He could hear each beat of his heart. If his heart was still beating, Akshara’s can’t have stopped.
“Dr. Birla! Please help! We need to restart her heart before it’s too late!!” Dr. Gupta was getting desperate and confused as to why Abhimanyu was just standing there like a statue not doing anything just staring at the patient in shock. “Dr. Abhimanyu Birla!!” He kept screaming but it was as if his senior doctor could not hear him.
Dr. Mahima came running in. “What’s going on? Abhimanyu what’s going on? Why are you not doing anything?” But it was not a time to ask questions and she went to right to work. As she got a more clear look at the patient, she took a step back in shock. “Akshara!” She took a quick look at her shocked nephew standing there with his hands still raised. “Someone take Dr. Abhimanyu out and stay with him and please contact Akshara Goenka’s family to let them know she has been in an accident.” She said without missing a beat trying to save the most important patient of her career.
A nurse tried to drag Abhimanyu and that was what finally took him out of his shock. “No no no! I’m not leaving my Akshu! No no!” he started to panic.
“Abhimanyu you can’t handle this case. Please leave so we can do our best in saving Akshara. Please go now.” Mahima demanded without looking up from what she was doing. “Come on, Akshara! Come back! Come on!” She said while trying to get her heart to restart again.
It took a force of three doctors and 4 nurses to finally drag Abhimanyu out. He started to pace up and down the floor.
Tum mere liye exist nahi karti. That was the last thing he ever said to her. That she doesn’t exist for him. How can he be so stupid? How could he say such a thing to someone who was the reason for his whole existence. But he knew as long as his own heart was beating, nothing could happen to hers. She was still here. She has to be here. How can he be so stupid to think that by marrying his sister, he will get her to open up? How can he think that by hurting her so badly, he will gain her love? How could he ever be so so stupid? He hated himself right then. Please Akshu. You can’t leave me. You can’t leave me. Not like this. This is not the way to say goodbye. Please don’t leave me. Please don’t leave me.
After 20 minutes, the Goenkas came running to the hall where Abhi was losing his mind, still in scrubs. “Kya hua meri bachi ko?” Mimi cried. “Koi mujhe batao, Kya hua meri Akshu ko?”
“Abhimanyu! Where’s Akshu? Please tell us.” Kairav demanded but Abhi could not hear anything anyone was saying. He walked back and forth trying to feel his own heartbeats. As long as my heart is beating, hers is too. As long my heart is beating, hers is too.
“Koi hume kuch batayega please? Where is Aarohi? Koi Aarohi se poocho!” Bade Papa screamed. Finally Nurse Siya came and everyone gathered around her. “Can you tell us how our child is doing? Please! What happened to her?”
“Akshara ma’am was hit by a truck. She’s very critical and Dr. Mahima is doing her best to restart her heart.” Nurse Siya informed the shocked family.
“Restart her heart? Why does her heart need to be restarted?” Badi Mama cried. Mimi sat down in shock.
“I’m sorry. We are trying our best to save her.” Nurse Siya said as she walked back to the trauma room.
“Aarohi. Where’s Aaru?” AG asked concerned.
“Meri bachi! Meri bachi!” Mimi cried and it was Mimi’s crying that made Abhi realized he was not alone there.
“Mimi. Mimi. Nothing will happen to Akshu, okay? See?” He took Mimi’s hand and put it on his heart. “Do you feel that? My heart is still beating so Akshu’s can’t stop. How can my heart still beat if hers is not? She’s fine. She’s fine.”
Mimi took her hand back in shock. The madness in Abhimanyu’s voice and eyes both concerned her and scared her. She knew then that if anything happened to Akshu they will lose Abhimanyu too.
“Kairav, please call the Birlas. Abhimanyu needs support too.” Bade Papa said. He felt the same thing Mimi was feeling.
It was another 30 minutes before Aarohi and the rest of the Birlas showed up.
“What’s going on? Where’s Akshu?” Aarohi cried. Accident? She can not lose another family member to an accident. As the family updated the new arrivals on Akshu’s condition, Aarohi felt her legs give up. Yes it was true she couldn’t stand her sister but she was still her sister. The one constant presence in her life who ever never left her no matter how much Aarohi pushed her away. She never stopped loving her no matter how much hate Aarohi threw her way. In her heart, Aarohi always knew that no matter what happened, she will always have her big sister there doing everything to make her life better. Now that same sister is fighting for her life. How did she even get to this state? Akshu was trying to come after me. Did she have her accident because of me? Aarohi spent her life blaming Akshu for being the reason they lost their mother and now Aarohi will be the reason they will lose Akshu? No no no. Nothing will happen to Akshu. Aarohi wondered how could Akshu stand being made to feel guilty about losing their mother all her life while she could not stand the feeling of guilt of being the reason for Akshu’s current state even for a minute. Please Bhagwan ji! Meri behn ko bacha lo. I will never ask for anything else. Please mujhse meri behn ko maat cheeno.
Meanwhile, Manjri couldn’t stop crying seeing her son’s state. He was right in front of her but not there at all. He was lost in his own world mumbling to himself things that made no sense. It was her fault. How can she not see how unhappy he was? How can she not see only Akshu made him happy? She will make this right. Akshu needs to be okay and she will make this right.
It felt like hours before Mahima finally came out of the trauma room. Abhimanyu was the first one to see her and ran straight to her. “Akshu is fine. I know that. Let me go see her.”
Mahima turned to the rest of the family. “After much difficulty we were able to bring Akshu back. Her heart gave up many time but she’s a fighter and fought back. She’s still in a very critical condition. We have to keep her in the ICU to constantly monitor her. The next 24 hours are very critical. And before anyone asks me, no nobody can meet her for the next 24 hours. Not even you, Abhimanyu.”
And before Abhi could say anything, Mahima started to speak up again. “Now excuse me, my patient needs me.”
