If you actually pay attention to the lyrics, the song inverts the male gaze and shames men and their perversion.

In fact this song triggered MRAs (Men Rights Activists, believe it or not😆) so much so that they came up with their own version where they blame the women.

Samantha portrayed a girl who was in complete control of her body and didn't give away her agency to any man, while still doing it under the framework of a regular "item song" (hate that term). It doesn't get more feminist than this. It's a masterstroke!

Okay I watched Pushpa because of the hype and Allu Arjun being one of my fav actor, but the movie is just another South masala movie. Nothing special. And that "special number" aka item song by Samantha is awful.

Bollywood is lacking with good masala movies lately so people overhype south indian movies like Pushpa

Also triggering men or riling them up is not feminism

Feminism is anti patriarchy not anti men …this song calls out the men but normalises the mindset as being gender specific …completely undercutting the so called agency

Oh yes I remember her being quite vocal during Nenokadaine and later on also about objectification on women etc. Now magicallly it’s all about “women empowerment” and all her inhibitions magically disappeared ! 🙄

The steps in Oo Antava are quite raunchy and suggestive to say the least. No harm in doing item numbers but don’t have to be hypocritical about it !

1 nenokkadine had released a poster where mahesh babu is walking on the beach and kriti Sanon is following him by crawling on his footsteps on the sand…she slyly tweeted (without mentioning the name of the movie) that the poster is “deeply regressive”…sukumar the director and mahesh expressed disappointment that she chose to do it this way rather than just giving them a call to raise concerns abt the poster and ask them to take it off

Pooja hegde made an Insta story while watching majli with samanthas face as the screenshot and wrote something like “I don’t find her pretty” or something ..she later retracted and deleted this story and said her account was hacked and she didn’t know ..she was trolled a lot for it but she didn’t respond and moved on with her life …

Now Samantha posts a smiley face “peace” picture on her Insta , and in the comments below, chinmayi , nandini reddy and herself are publicly bitching about pooja for her “hacked” statement and mocking it (again , slyly poojas name wasn’t mentioned) …chinmayi then posts an Insta post about “reasons why I find Samantha pretty” or something stupid like that

Basically, she loves being all sly and sneaky on social media, and has her friends drop Insta stories in her favour and mudslinging others …but when someone calls her out to her face (for doing a cheap item song objectifying women ) she’s all “shocked pikachu face-why is everyone pointing fingers at me ….” ☹️

I have no clue what happened between them but, from what it looks like and the info available to us..

Her husband (and their entire fam) has been much more dignified in the way he handled the separation…no mudslinging, no heavily publisized “spiritual awakening” trips, no victim hood , no strangely aggressive “I will strike back stronger u wait and watch” pr work..he legit just put his head down and worked ..promoted his films …that’s it

Unlike Sam who does all the above and more… like dude chill tf out, no one said her career is over.. from ram charan to Amala to allu arjun have all wished her well..everyone’s been cheering her and giving her opportunities regardless of her marital status..

Yet, She seems to create this false narrative that everyone is after her and eager to write her off and she has to “strike back” and prove all of them wrong …whereas no one literally no one from the industry, is writing her career off

This whole obsession she has of coming across as a fighter is absurd ..there is nothing to fight here , atleast career wise…😂
