Did you like the ending of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam?

I always thought she ended up with the wrong guy. Nandini and Sameer loved each other, they wanted to be with each other. Nandini was forcefully married to Vanraj and he sacrificed his love for her to reunite her with her lover, and then she decided that she would rather return to Vanraj because sacrificial love trumps everything else? Sounds like hogwash to me.

Why couldn't the movie just have her return to the person she loved from the beginning? Why is it so difficult to put forth the message that love is not a romanticized concept, but an incredibly imperfect emotion which binds together 2 people, and sometimes marriages do go against love?

Did anyone else feel the ending was contrived and unrealistic? I felt so sorry for Sameer.

No. I watched the movie only once and never again because I hated the ending. By making Nandini choose Vanraj, the movie tries to justify the despicable actions of her father, and makes it out that her fathers decision was ultimately the right one. What a load of bullshit.

Her fcuker kahin ka of a father forced his daughter into a marriage, against her will, even though she slit her wrist in opposition. I’d like to say a big fcuk you to her father and would happily shove a spiked pole up his ass and have him sing sa re ga ma pa while I twist it. Thank you and come again.

I watched this god awful film years ago as a lil girl. I was really disappointed and rather angry at Nandini for taking the decision that she did. It's one of the films I hate and have no tolerance for.

Yes because it was shocking as hell and therefore made for a twist ending which I loved then. LOL

I didn't like Salman's character and found Ajay to be the more matured man out of them from what I remember. I hated the father tho and for that reason might rethink my liking for the ending.

Vanraj was selfless and willing to sacrifice his true love for her happiness. How can his wife not fall for a husband like that? I would have hated the movie if Nandini had chosen Sameer.

I did really like it. Thought it was beautiful. But I would have liked it if she ended up with SKs character too. Either ending would work for a love story.
