The four back to back posts above you show how some people have been waiting with bated breaths to look for even a tiny opportunity to bash 83.

. So 83 opening to 14 Crores during pandemic seems fine.

And if we start comparing it to openings of No Way Home (32 Crores) and Pushpa (45 Crores), then Bollywood is clearly not performing well.
Opening in the range of 15-20 Crores would've looked better for 83. Still clearly alot of people were having unrealistic expectations from this film.
Now the night curfews would've a direct impact on the box office figures so can't expect much from word-of-mouth either.
How much should the movie at least make (monetarily), to be declared a hit, Awaam??

I don't know. But I'm sure BOI would declare it a Hit with lifetime collection around 180 Crores.
Lol BOI has reduced first day number to 12 Crores.

12 crores is a disaster. People were shouting 300 and 400 crores for years. The PR was so annoying since the casting stage when they used to release thousands of articles for casting every random actor and posters continuously.
Who would be interested in this story other than old men? But I kept my mouth shut thinking that I don’t understand the Indian audience. 🥴
Oh the Schadenfreude 🤪

Around Rs. 450 to Rs.1500 at multiplex chains across metro cities like Mumbai during weekends. Speaks a lot abt how many are actually watching the film given one ticket itself costs a bomb. One cannot rely on bookmyshow app too to see fast filling seats since all theatres are operating at 50% and once it crosses 40% occupancy BMS starts showing fast filling
