What did Ram see in Vedhika all this while??

Seriously, what's so special about her except for her looks, that he was so madly in love with her? I can imagine if he was smitten during his younger days. But when she left him to marry Shashi, why didn't he get hurt over her for dumping him and get over his craze for her?

She clearly married Shashi as he had more money than Ram at that point of time. How come this act of hers didn't bother him enough to get over his craziness and how he was so in love with her till Priya came into his life? Ram was so assured that he will always love her until recently. His overlooking nature is not digestible in Vedhika scenario.

Brilliant question - how can a man with Ram’s values love such a shallow woman. That he fell for her beauty & glamour in early youth is understandable - that is infactuation. But that he stayed in love with her is hard to understand.

He has such a ready contrast in his bestie Brinda itself - also pretty & glam but not shallow. How cld he not see this?

Well I think the reason why Ram kept thinking that he was in love with vedika all this time is nandini and gang . It was so convenient for nandini and Shashi for Ram to remain in love with vedika and keep pining over her that Nandini kept telling Ram that he's in love with vedika and she's his one true love.

As we have seen even after his marriage she kept pushing ram in vedika's direction and tried to manipulate him with mami that "Ram is in love with vedika he won't ever be able to love Priya hope Priya doesn't take his sympathy as love because I don't ram and priya to get hurt again" but it's a different matter that Ram actually took all that with a different angle because he wants to take the marriage and priya seriously after everything that went between them.

So for him to take vedika this seriously and keep giving her importance was because Nandini pushed him towards her a lot too. And over time he also started to believe that whatever he and vedika had was the only love he will be able to receive in his lifetime and refused to let go of it.

As some people pointed out adi and brinda's relationship as an example , they were also college sweethearts and maybe this is also a reason why Ram didn't wanted to let go of vedika untill Priya came along because vedika represented his college love , the kind of love that lets you feel young and over time you get so attached to it that letting go of it starts to hurt unless untill you have a better option to turn to. And it's not like Ram didn't tried because brinda did set him up with her friends on weird blind dates in the early episodes it's just that he never connected or resonated with anyone untill Priya . Besides Shashi and Nandini were also very clever they never let him forget how vedika was his first love so all this is very much plausible to me .

Yes Ram doesn't love her anymore, it's obvious that he's entirely devoting himself to his marriage. Hoping for the day he realizes how sick and shallow his ex was/is, and he is so lucky to have Priya in his life. I feel he already knows the latter, but the former it'll take more time.

maybe nandini is also involved in the killing of Ram's father, who knows but she is an evil sautely ma

I think ram us in love with the idea of being in love with Vedika. Another reason is that she kept her inage as the good one sine bechari who loves him

Bold@ exactly my point. He is 38 now, so going by their ages, he must have been alone for at least 8-9 years now, after Vedhika dumped him and married Shashi for money.

And that's a very very long time for someone to be in an one-sided love with such an undeserving person like Vedhika.

I was always under the impression that Vedhika maybe married Shashi for money but it was more like a blackmail from Shashi, to come in between the two, just so that he could revel over the fact that he had something that Ram deeply loved and he never could have. But the recent revelations make it clear it was just money for vedhika, which makes her damn shallow. And despite all this, how on earth Ram was so bewitched with her for so so long???

Seeing the present scenario n Vedika’s true intentions of marrying Shashi over Ram, I too feel Ram has always been misled by the idea of being in love with Vedu all this while. I still remember how Shashi has always been trying to portray how Vedu is a perfect wife n how he’s been so lucky to get her. Shashi has always shown a goody good side of his marriage with Vedu all the more hurting Ram and making him realise if his emptiness in his life. Neither Nandini nor Shubhu and Shivina ever tried to pull Ram out of this web. They, especially Nandini, always wanted him to stay in love with Vedu as Nandini has always been able to easily manipulate her and hence make Ram do whatever she wants.

Getting married to Priya actually gave Ram some new perspectives to look into. The way he told Vedu today that she too shouldn’t interfere in Raya’s personal matters just the way Vedu taunted Priya, the way he got angry on Vedu for taunting Priya about Shivina’s marriage, the way he burnt the prenup papers and the way he disagreed to sign the annulment papers, it’s obvious that Ram is quickly moving out of his mom and Vedu’s clutches. He too wants some stability in his life. He too wants someone who truly belongs to her. He actually gets upset recalling the fact that his marriage with Priya was out of compromise coz he actually likes the way Priya is. She is simple but smart, she belongs to a middle class family but has strong moral values and is financially and mentally independent with her choices, she is caring but taunts you for not doing the right thing. I just love the fact that makers have shown in bits n pieces that Ram has actually been like Priya in his habits and life choices but he changed only to make Vedu happy, like the way he started liking lilies over roses.

Rams friends have always been so considerate about him and his life but they, unfortunately, have never been able to make him realise how pretentious Vedu and Shashi’s marriage has been always. All I’m surprised to see is how Ram has been so oblivious about Vedu and Shashi’s hoax marriage in the last 15 years.

I just don’t know why Vedu gave all that gyaan during Shivi-Sid’s breakup in the initial episodes to Ram that only those 2 people should stay together who genuinely love each other and not those who come together for a marriage of compromise. May be she just wanted to restore her confidence in Ram that she’s such a bechari who bowed in front of her fathers wishes to marry a wealthy man like Shashi over Ram even though Ram and Vedu’s father have been friends for a long time.

I can’t wait to see Shashi’s public financial downfall and Ram finally realising that Vedu and her father have been such cheap people that they only want to associate with those who are rich, and love and feelings just take a backseat in such a scenario. I am all the more liking the way Ram has been outrightly disregarding Vedu for pointing out and taunting Priya for hailing from a middle class family, for her father having a second marriage and for her step mom and son planning to kill Ram, harm his family and mint more money, and for probably doing the right thing in life.

I doubt if Ram understands that Vedika dumped him for money. And I think Ram has very few people who love him. He has only his step family, friends and Vedhika in his life. Maybe he was very busy in building his business to get into any new relationships and was sticking on to Vedhika assuming that she also loves him truly. Ram is very naive when it comes to judging people.
