I think he's doing this to force akshara to admit she loves him.

Yes, AB can never think of revenge, he cannot see anyone hurting akshara. He stood against his own father many times, when he tried to insult her. He says "jiski ek aah se meri jaan nikal jaati hai" he is super duper angry still told her sister clearly that am gonna love akshara always. Probably trying to make akshu clear many delusions she has about her decisions and family.
