Conservatives equate staying out with being spoiled. And that's what needs to change.

There are various reasons why one has to stay out until 10 or past 10. I have come home several times after 11 pm because of labs or late classes and I didn't even grow up in the mobile phone era where parents keep tab of their kids location.

Barring AKKK, I don't recall any serial in recent times where actresses wear western and it isn't an issue ( the daughters and daughters in law of arundhati) Even appu is shown inferior to kanitkar house because Tila stotra yet nahi, marathi che heavy words mahit nahiye and she doesn't eat gharcha Jevan much. These are habits of many kids of today. Doesn't mean they're bad or inferior.

Yes, for fun too. I've come back home from day trips at 2 am or 5am. The only rule I had to follow was my parents should know where I am and name of at least one person I'm with.

I'm happy to see that Ks don't judge Appu based on how she dresses. I don't think Appu is shown inferior (though Shashank probably think that way) because of her limited Marathi vocab or not knowing stotra. I feel they wanted to highlight how different they are. My husband knows not a single stotra while I was taught quite a few. But that does not mean he has no respect for religion or stotras. Gharcha jevan depends on how your parents or caregivers bring you up. As long one has good eating habits and knows the difference between good food and bad, it shouldn't matter Indian or non-Indian food.
