There are people that dont like sonu nigams voice (imagine that) so not liking his voice isnt really a solid argument.

Rahat was in Nusrats shadow so there were always comparisons (fair or not). And im not exactly sure why people would be miffed given that hes a very niche singer (very specific genre). His voice wasnt exactly best suited for every bollywood song

he was promoted well by the company TIPS whom he had an agreement contract, even armaan malik dont have much songs but he still have the impact due to t series songs as he is t series singed artist, once abhijeet said koor ko bhi promote kr kr ke star bana dete hain

Besura he may be, but it was his music that ignited the fire that changed the music industry

Kumar Sanu's career ended in late 90's he was barely visible by mid 2000's. Sonu, KK, Shaan and Udit dominated before Atif. Atif was dominant for a few years towards late 2000's and early 2010's. Atif was the first singer in playback who was truly besura but with a unique voice. He really changed bollywood in that sense. Although he has improved his singing a lot nowadays.

not years , atif aslam only had 4-5 songs in entire late 2007 08 09, they are countable ,,,,during 2010 mohit chuhan became big ,,, it was only i guess during 2012 that atif got pritam consistent songs back to back piya o re piya , jeene laga hoon , be inteha .....the only year atif could be ranked as proper dominance could be between 2012 or 13

You can't ignore Tu Jaane na, Tera hone Laga hoon, paheli Nazar mein. All are massive songs and easily the biggest male songs of their respective years. He is definitely overhyped and not as influential as his fans make him out to be.

Those were not only the songs.. There were khuda Jane main fida hun kk, soniyo o soniyo, tu mere adhuri piyas javid ali , chiggy wiggy, marjani marjani shwukinder singh, love mera hit hit neeraj sheedar etc there were much more popular songs than atifs, atif still was finding his niche audience he wasn't as influential as javid ali, Sonu or kk even shaan during late 2000, he was still getting hate for him being besura those days....

Atif is better than Sonu
