If you really want to know...I don't think these two dated. Jaya B never approved of her personally...Rani was known to get close to her male co-stars...she herself said so...I think Abhi and her were close as co-stars but when they weren't working together, they weren't even friends.

I don't think they were ever dating cause when she did Bas Itna Sa Kwab Hai, she was with the director Goldie. After that, with Govinda...Then Yuva time, she was single and mingling with him on the sets very closely.

After that she met Adi and had her eyes set on him...they have been together for so long...so where did Abhi fit in?

yeah, it kinda fits the narrative...but Jaya B never wanted her as a bahu..she hated when the media brought the Abhi-Rani same like Jaya-Amitabh comparison.

You know the Bachchans roll with whoever is successful and happening...Rani at that time was on a roll and her pairing with Abhi gave him a standing in the industry...the minute she started flopping, they dumped whatever relationship they had with her! Thats why poor Rani was shocked!
