there was this special thread when hemant left the show

https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/post/157116772

Everyone predicted that show treatment will be different if he left and same exact thing happened

Hemant is a high profile director. He might have been on contract for only this much period of time or his salary might be high that sikku couldn't have afforded.

Saishi have said on numerous occasions that he gave them free hand to improvise their scenes on their own. Also as you rightly said he captured the essence of characters and objects much better

The scenes for Mansi's sangeet and wedding functions had good decorations and good size of crowd in the D house. Later on even the principal cast was missing - I think it is because the actors had to take off due to family problems like Nikhil went missing for the longest time.

I was just catching up the show intermittently and I see that Hemant R Prabhu was director till the entry of Mandar. The episode 136 in which Mandar comes face to face with Raghav - Pallavi was the episode where Jaffar came in the show.

Anyone has any idea why Hemant left the show? Because the characters were developed very good when Hemant was at the helm of the things. When Hemant left the leads were made dumb in rotation - It was Raghav who was dumb during the tracking drama and later it was Pallavi who did not see Mandar's intentions and went and stayed at D house.

Jaffar did give some very good scenes but Jaffar did not use the majestic RR Mansion like Hemant did. They had the RR Mansion decorated majestically for the Marathi dinner post confession but the ambience was there only for less than 10mins. Why did Sunny have to barge in during this dinner. I feel MHRW lost its essence when Hemant exited the show and Sickand kept on giving more importance to Sunny and Mandar in the name of his tadka daal.

Still Jaffar was able to direct few of the scenes really good - Just wish it was Hemant all through the show and we would have gotten a better Raghav - Pallavi love story with good theharaav to the scenes and the characters.

Hemant left to direct the Zee five Pavitra rishta as far as I know. Sadly he didn't come back. I agree with you the old show had a diff charm to it. Not sure what it was but it was better written and executed.

I think you're right that in love for Mandar and Sunny tadka the show nosedived. Jaffar does really well with romance scenes but not so much with overall aesthetic. Hemant was good with both and Rohit was a total waste, his inexperience was visible clearly.

The part where Pallavi was physically drawn towards Raghav isn't explore much... We had that debates and almost everyone of us who used to discuss episodes were speculating on who would first fall on love.. who would first be physically drawn and we were vouching Pallavi to feel that proximity because we know Anna was a playboy that time (Seperate thread was there to discuss if anna was a virgin or not😆)... All crazy topics... Also few of the character traits were actually the original persons like Raghav spinning the pencil as it's actually Sai's and similarly Pallavi's generosity might have also included Shivnagi's input... Imagine the director did 10-15 look tests for Pallavi for that marriage after look where amma takes her to meet sharada... It was just few mins but they did took care a lot and everyone was in wow of her look... Unfortunately Raghav missed that look... But by the end of the show, they did gave some good looks like KC, satyanarayana pooja but what's the use when mood is not set neither for viewers nor for Raghav.... Before Isha they had few track but all they served us is During abortion track, rather than focusing on Pallavi as how she is feeling or what's her inner turmoil to bear the half of D fam who constantly berating her or how she should try to be pillar of strength for Aayi baba, they have shown unnecessary gyan giving ro Amrutha only to be scolded by her... There is a lot to explore but ... Kya hi bolu main...

Pallavi's turmoil was shown when Raghav said that he saw disgust for him in her eyes, and when Pallavi actually decided to leave Hyderabad because the harassment was too much. What other scenes would you have liked to see? Did you want Pallavi to complain about how she was treated? But Sharada and Vijay both said that they believed in Pallavi.

I actually liked the scene of Pallavi trying to be a wise big sister without actually having the necessary experience, and Amruta telling her, "my body, my choice!"

If you are talking about the abortion track, then as far as I know and saw, Raghav said that he saw disgust in her eyes to Farhad but not to Pallavi... There was just war of words between the two... Then where is Pallavi's turmoil shown ??? Turmoil is something that you need to show in atleast 2 or 3 scenes and each time with different perception just like how it was shown towards the ending of the show in Isha's track...Where she tries hard to not let Raghav into her life but at the same time couldn't see him in pain... And the important thing is she didn't leave to Kolhapur because of the harassment... It was because she was asked by kaku to leave the house and where was turmoil shown?? She just decided to stay back to prove herself innocent.. She didn't face any turmoil to expose Amruta because she was confident of what she want to do i.e., not exposing Amruta but at the same time prove herself innocent... As far as I know and understand when you think and have different perceptions for situation that is when you have turmoil between your heart and mind... Staying for Mandar treatment and her helplessness of not staying with Raghav is what actually the turmoil is... But makers clearly failed to execute and convince viewers to buy in that because of poor writing, dialogues and execution...

And where she faced any sort of turmoil in preaching Amruta about her body??? To be precise i rest my point by saying that the makers clearly didn't showcased Pallavi's thought process or her inner battles... If you feel otherwise and have seen all Pallavi's struggles (not the physical and money related) but the mental struggles, then may be i am not able to understand the makers execution...

The covid restrictions affected so many shows, it was clearly evident in the way many of those shaped up afterward. I think the show would've done better ratings-wise too had this not been the case. MHRW never got the exposure and the hype it deserved, especially for a show which tried to bring diversity on ITV (I can never get over the cultural authenticity of the characters). Compared to ITV shows in general, MHRW was still great execution and aesthetic-wise for the first half. If I absolutely had to bring up an issue, I'd say it was the pace of Raghav-Pallavi's romance for me. I am never a fan of dragging but there were times when I wanted them to slow down a bit. I like to think they wanted to flesh that out a bit more but covid led to developing the romance angle earlier than usual and we never got to experience the slowly-falling-in-love phase fully.

Agree with the direction. Remember how we were discussing this in the AT as well? I like Ved's track so much because he was the only antagonist who didn't get a free pass for everything. His track pre-Mandar was the only one where Raghav, Pallavi and him were equally strong and intelligent--their scenes came out extremely well. It had the right amount of everything and led to so many of my favorite RaghVi scenes too. I also liked his bits in the Mandar track but there was so much of nonsense then which I had to hawa mein filter that it didn't shine as strongly as the earlier scenes IMO. Mandar track was still tolerable because Jaffar at least got the Raghav-Pallavi scenes right but Rohit's love for the "second leads" (along with SS's grudge against the fans and his love for tadka) singlehandedly brought the quality of the show way down.

Yeah I was travelling too. I finished episode 11 which makes me behind by 3 episodes. I will try to catchup by the weekend. I have been super busy and also have guests at home. Weekend tak I may get back on track as well. Not sure if Sharada and Fria are watching. I didn't see their posts.
