Gunday was a fictional story about two immigrants. Raazi and The Ghazi Attack were based on real incidents that occurred during the war in which India was directly involved. Children Of War was not even about the war and the Indian army. Rather it was about the atrocities inflicted by the Pakistani army on the Bangladeshi civilians, especially women, during the 1971 struggle.

All I want to say is that history is guilty of being written by those in power. It lacks neutrality. Every country writes it's history in the interests of the ruling class or itself. The narrative should suit their needs and should support their regime. The subalterns are always ignored and their voice and history erased. That's what gave birth to subaltern studies.

And it's true of every nation. History is never to be treated as The Truth. It's all relative. Depends on which country is writing it and in whose interest. So, not expecting distortions by either or is a mockery of oneself. Whether it is Pak or Bangladesh or India or America, they have their own versions and that is something they will stick with. In the eyes of the natives it is absolute truth but for the rest it gets classified as tampering.

And obviously mass media is the most lucrative institution to establish narratives as the truth.

They should not even make anything on this topic. Can't we all move on!

Anyway these telefilm, movies are really trying to whitewash. If they have courage to show anything, then they should address atrocities on countless women. Enemy weren't them who tolerated atrocities.

I used to like that pakistan wasnt army obsessed the way india was on tv long back but now it seems they are going this route of whitewashing and showing themselves as heroes (like what india is doing in bollywood right now, and it irritates me). I dont understand why we cant make a movie abt history that dosent involve india or bd!

Same I am sick of it too...I just want Pakistan to stop making stuff based on history. They keep being an absolute embarrassment by whitewashing facts. It is very well known that Pakistan was not some innocent child when it came to the independence of Bangladesh....so many Pakistani soldiers rap*d Bengali women, for goodness sake!

I don't mind Pakistan making movies or dramas on army ...I loved ehd e Wafa.....Ek this NIGAAR....and I m loving sinf e Ahan...this also looks super grand and unfortunately

This is again glorifying false facts

India sent their troops in Bangladesh around Dec 3rd 1971 when war was abt to end to help BD tie the loose ends

Pakistan tried to make a last desperate move to attack BD through the sea .... through bay of Bengal through the submarine and India got the news a few days before hand and there was an indo pak battle of submarines

In Raazi they showed Alia Bhatt was an indian spy in Pakistan and she got to know that pak is planning a secret sudden submarine attack through the sea

And then there was another Indian movie called the GAAZI ATTACK which focused on this fight of the submarines only

In that movie they glorified how Indian Navy APNI Jaan PE khelke Pakistani submarines ko Roka tha....and here in Hangor they r glorifying the Pakistani side

I really don't know what EXACTLY happened in the battle of the submarines now .....lol....

I don't mind one or two projects based on history par ab toh ek saath similar projects ki barsaat hi hogayi 🤣.

See If a drama or movie started showing Their own country in dark light then no one will buy it. Recently Shershah, Soorivansh got released and they were anti pak but Indian masses like the movie similarly these history based pak dramas are made to show patriotism towards country and people may like it. If they will highlight How Pakistanis suffered without putting anyone in dark light then there is nothing wrong in it.
