You are totally 100% right - I also feel that Virat's blind love for his family, especially Kaku - who rules the family - just look at Ninad - who does anything that kaku says - he also jumps every time Kaku says anything. Virat learned from his dad and mom - who never want to "ruffle feathers" in the family dynamics.

I really don't like makers version of Virat - I have not stop watching the show, because I'm being hopeful that makers will finally redeem themselves and bring the GC Virat back - there we saw Sai-Virat bonding without CN folks or "dost Pakhi" GC Virat-Sai bond, their talk, their support of each other made each other the "better" person. Virat understood Sai - after coming to CN, Virat is being "ruled" by his family's expectation and he forgets how well he know Sai. He lets his family and "dost" makes the decision for him.
