I don’t think that’s the case because in the initial seasons, Stefan is shown more mature, he is the brooding person between the two.

It’s just that Stefan is so occupied with Elena and there are more scenes with Ric.

Also, in the later seasons we come to know that the past years were not really hunky dory for Damon, he has gine through the whitmore society and shit.

i felt so bad for damon he suffered through so much and never told a soul

I am not really into werewolf drama, I am just going to read tvd now. The books are better and different from the show
