Disclaimer: I'm not able to watch the episodes for few days now so surviving just on the WUs and the forum so pardon me if I'm wrong.

Why are ITV mothers who adore and dot on thier children so selfish and apathetic towards others. Why is it always mera beta and mere bete ki khushi?

Case in point here: Manjari

First of all why are they all over-loving. I mean, I'm also a mother and mothers' love is unconditional but why go all melodramatic and start hyperventilating on small small things?

Secondly, It was so selfish of Manjari to coax Akshara for Abhi's birthday. Secondly, today it wa sale fish to take her name in for the of Harsh when she knew how her husband would react and specifically when Abhi asked her not to. Thirdly, thinking Abhi will understand it's for his own good.

Bhayi what about Akshu's good? What about her feelings or consent?

Why it's only Mera beta and doosro ke bachche jaye bhaad mein?

I disagree.

It would be wrong to classify Manjiri’s actions here as selfish as she has merely done what any mother would do. She knows her son is innocent but he's willing to let himself be destroyed for the woman he loves. He's willing to let his name, his reputation, his self-respect, everything be tarnished as long as Akshara’s dignity remains intact. No mother would stand back and applaud him for his deeds. She would instead do exactly what Manjiri is doing - take any means necessary to protect her child.

As for caring for other children, Manjiri has her own flesh and blood, and he is her ONLY priority. Yes, she can empathize and feel compassion for other people, but when worst comes to worst, a mother will ALWAYS safeguard and protect her own child over others.

Upar se, she doesn't know Akshara well enough to care for her as a mother should. Akshara has her own family and it is safe for Manjiri to assume that they would be there to care for her. Unless Akshara herself approaches Manjiri and shares something deeply personal, there is no reason for Manjiri to even think that there is something wrong in her personal life.

TL;DR Manjiri isn't doing anything wrong and it is paramount that we stop putting women into boxes in regards to how they should behave in their specific roles in life.

Agree to each word written here. I mean we are all selfish at some point of our life. All grey characters and that's the good part about this show especially. Any mother cannot tolerate such an accusation on her son which can tear part his whole life. No mother would want her child's life to be spoiled in any case and here he is innocent. Having known that there is a way to protect her child, safe guard his integrity and reputation then why would she not.

Even Akshara's grandparents and her brother is not ready to let her confess the truth seeking her protection. They too are selfish here but that's how humans revolve right. \

Manjari is a typical mother and I love that about her. Her first and foremost priority is her son. Being a mother, I do fit into her shoes and know what it means.

Absolutely correct what you’ve said. I’m a mother too and I would fight the world for my child, and if I know my child is innocent I’d fight even harder. So Manjiri is doing what any mother would do for her kid. I don’t see anything wrong in it and I’m glad they’ve not tried to make Manjiri a Mahan as well. They’ve so far kept most characters quite realistic and I’m liking that.
