True. I am seeing Khans are being erased from public eye with propaganda against them. Their films shown less nowadays and Ajay and Akki doing every ad on TV nowadays.

I am surprised how Aamir's Vedantu app ad also stopped airing.

SRK is only seen in 2 ads.

Salman is more visible and is perhaps spared as he flew kites with PM candidate in 2014.

I will not be surprised if post 2010 kids assume Akki and Ajay are bigger stars than Khans as they see so less of Khans nowadays.

I am amused how even garbage films of Ajay and Akki are shown more on TV these days and iconic hits of Khans are shown less!

To be honest, Akshay Kumar is indeed the number one right now. Ajay Devgn is number two. Sooryavanshi and Tanhaji are big hits. Hrithik, Tiger, Ranbir, Ranveer then follow them. Khans are actually pretty much over since they are flopping miserably now. One has to be living in a dreamland to believe Khans are ahead of the above-mentioned stars.

South Asians is a big generalization. South Indians, NE people hardly watch Bollywood. In Punjab also Punjabi films have been outgrossing Bollywood films since last few years. And who told you whole of Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan etc are watching only SRK films overseas?

Only North India or Hindi belt and their diaspora are not South Asia representatives.

Overseas market means zilch when someone is irrelevant in domestic market.

Anyway it is about current generation and not entire history of last 3 decades. And for current Gen Z, SRK is not that relevant. Just an old time name and a has been big star whose last good film was CDI in 2007.

Gen Z is born after 1995. And they like new, younger actors more.

My South Indian and NE friends all watched BW. I have lived in Assam too. Idk where this info is coming from.

Nobody is saying they are way ahead but there is a very systematic and concerted effort to drown out their star power (which actually doesn't disappear overnight- Aamir and Salman's last few films have been monster hits). And anyone who refuses to see what's going on behind the curtain is living in a dreamland.

As for No 1- Ajay is great but he is also old and a spent force. Akshay does medium budget films and makes them moderate hits (Survyavanshi apart)- even with all the political might propping him up, he doesn't cut it. Hrithik is a bigger star than him, if you look at the fandom, without half the political clout that Akshay carries.

The real no 1 game is between RK and Ranveer and will be an ongoing match for a while.

These days though, it is anything to run down the "Khans" as if they are one family or something. Salman is still holding on because of the kite flying perhaps and in part because his action hero image can continue for a while in his 50s.

His movies may not be doing well now or he may not be having that connect anymore now but SRK is undeniably the most loved Star after Amitabh. Here is a recent one by Vir Das. Looks like the guy doesn’t want to come back to India, because how dare he praise SRK.

I was talking about whole career and not last 3 years.

Aamir barely does films. His last one was a flop despite a big opening. So he cannot be compared to Akshay who releases films like every 2 months.

The real competition is between Ranveer and Ranbir nowadays. I would not call Akshay or Ajay #1 and #2. The real competition is between RK and RS. Ajay is a stable star. But hardly the #2 or #1 competitor.

Akshay and Ajay are certainly doing better than SRK as of now who has barely had a release on recent times and his Harry Met Sejal was a flop.
