I get what you're saying. but i think makers could have conveyed her guilt over speaking rudely to him without that reference of misogyny. It almost feels like an indirect endorsement of such actions and saying ki-its ok for a frustrated or angry husband to slap his wife. And by putting that one line, its like giving him a pass for the abusive acts of food denial, hand wringing, room locking...kyunki afterall bechaare ko apni baat kehne ka mauka nahi mila toh obviously he got physical.
Makers need to be more careful.
