Well, Umm.. She watched the show's snippets during her "quarantine" act and figured that the only way to get out of her own negative image is to be in Umar's good books. The makers don't want Umar to win, despite having a huge fan following... For Shamita, this was her only opportunity to fix things before anything else turns unfavorable.

I was watching LF when this happened…. Umar was contemplating on making a cake and wasn’t sure about the recipe..Shamita, Umar and Rajiv were in the conversation. The recipe backfired and it became rubbery…that’s what it was…not edible. It was a first trial. Nothing about a class..
Must be trial n error method… but I really hope that a bond forms between this too.. because no matter what Umar will never become karan’s top priority… likewise same goes for Shamita… even Neha considers Pratik to be her priority… no matter how much they fight… so Umar and Shamita playing together will be great… as both are strong headed but very classy in their approach… never heard Umar speaking filthy language in the house…
