Are there better actors than Amitabh Bachchan?

Is Amitabh Bachchan the best actor out there?

Not gonna list any art film or theatre actor just for heck of it. Amitabh is an all rounder and can only be compared to other star actors.

In Indian cinema I feel only Kamal Haasan can be said to be more talented actor and is also a great dancer, has given successful films in all genres.

I would have named Dilip Kumar as well but his weakness was he could not pull off action convincingly. Otherwise Dilip Kumar was called Nat Samrat and Amitabh, Dharam, SRK etc all used to consider him as their guru or inspiration.

They cannot do commercial action genre as convincingly as Big B. Also they are no match to Big B in the most toughest of all the genres- comedy!

Dilip kumar was good only at crying roles 😆

Yes there are better actors out there.

Yes, there are better actors than Amitabh Bachan. If we are considering just acting Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui are better actors in Bollywood. In Indian film industry Mohanlal, kamal Hassan even prakash Raj is a better actor. If AB excels in action genre and if one argue that Mohanlal or Kamal cannot ace action movie like AB, I have to agree with the argument but AB cannot perform like Mohanlal in movies like Thanmatra, Sadayam, bharatham and vanaprastha or like kamal hassan in Guna, nayakan.

But no one can beat the charisma of Amitabh Bachan.

Rajesh Khanna. Rishi Kapoor.

Maybe, they did limited genres of movies but there were atleast masters in one instead of jack in all.

Literally every cop movie, every angry young man role , every rebellious person role …the suave gangster role, the adorable funny layman role done in Hindi, Telugu Tamil and other industries since the 70s, was inspired by his works in Zanjeer, deewar, sholay and don….

All the current “commercial hero” templates are just derivatives of what he did ….u can’t even think of many cop stories, intense Gareebo ka messiah roles prior to the 70s …he started the Trend which continues to persist till this date …some 40 years later

And he can do the super nuanced , edgy roles too as proved by his second innings since 2001
