Mithai's character s diffrnt and I dnt want her to imitate any other character.

I think they are exploring some different shades of Mithai's character especially in regards to the whole Bori situation. Previously she always dealt with Bori, her mother and Som very passively because she thought she did not have that "adhikaar" or jogyota as Sid's wife.

But the 2nd time around thammi has explicitly given her the "bouma" adhikaar and Sid has also supported her through his words and actions so she can be more confident in her approach

That being said Mithai is a bengali serial so there will be some similarities as certain tropes always work but I have seen clips of Jamuna dhaki and it is very mota daager - it doesn't have the nuances of characterization that Mithai does so hopefully we are safe in that respect 👍🏼

If anyone here follows sidhai_lovebirds on insta then they can read a wonderful explanation that she had written on this topic..I will try to post the link

Basically she had written that Tess was not wrong in wearing clothes of her choice however there is always a context - that is time, place, company, occasion that must be kept in mind when making those choices. And this is not just a Bengali or Indian mindset. Even in liberal Western countries if you show up to a wedding wearing white people will talk. 😲

In this case the context was a new bride coming to a puja in a conservative Bengali household so yes certain expectations did need to be met and that was actually explained very well by Reboti herself. 👍🏼

I remember Nipa wearing halter neck blouse in the 1st episode that too during some pithe puli occasion ..

@Green - Completely agree with this.. ITV should definitely change something that sends out wrong messages.. Girls nowadays doesn't always wear sankha-pola n mota sindoor.. But these TV shows has this tendency to differentiate FL n Vamps with their clothes.. I today's episode Tess said she don't know how to make Luchi n everyone had a sarcastic smirk.. I didn't liked it either.. Just because someone doesn't know how to make Indian dish doesn't make the person bad.. Only attitude matters...

@Red - I've been waiting for Mithai's education track for months now.. Hope they introduce this track next.. That scene was really beautiful 😍

@bold: Absolutely agreed Soniya di, Mithai and the others even made a scornful comment about how they'll call her when they want "bideshi" ranna. Yes she may be a grey character, but all her traits need not be correlated and made fun of!

I think his reaction was based on the fact that dadai n thammi r too much traditional in nature and being a "bouma" of modak family her attire was nt up to the mark. Waise, he is used to seeing Tess in western wear, so he was nt shocked as Tess was dreaming.

But yes Anjani di and @Esotericbird92, this really makes a lot of sense (I haven't seen the original post though) But I hope this point is brought across properly some other time where her outfit is praised, so that people don't wrongly conclude that the fault is in her clothes. It is only context that matters.

Welcome dear!!🤗

And yes, I loved that scene where Sid kind of realized how different his and Som's life is now.

I sincerely want Som to talk to Sid at one point, (may be later in the series) wherein, he accepts that he was wrong in rejecting Mithai and Sid is really lucky to have her as his wifey.

Thank you soooo much Anjani di🤗

@bold: Aah what a scene that would be

Yes I had started watching the show online, but it was not long before I stopped. It's a very loud and typical show and now that you mention it, it does seem like Mithai is turning out to be Jamuna 2.0

The whole Ja vs Ja thing was something they had shown in that show as well, with one Ja being in love with the husband of the other. If they plan on going that way (and makers if you're reading this) PLEASE STOP!🤢

Sometimes I bear last 2-3 minutes of that show while waiting for Mithai to start.. All I see in that show is the vamp Arya screaming "Jamunaaaa" n Jamuna screaming "Arya mukh samle kotha bolo" 🤣🤣

Yeeaahh the whole episode was very cute ❤️...this show really highlights sibling relationships in the best way 👏❤️

And one way where you can really see where Sid has changed is in terms of his equations with his sisters, brothers and brothers-in-law. Today Tyas bori realized it too and her expression is just

But I hope now the story progresses from the whole Ja vs Ja thing..it is funny as heck but getting a bit repetitive

Also unsure about Dhara's dhara..today it seemed as if she was deliberately needling our cutie-pie Nipa..hope she does not become a problem 🤔
