Am I the only one who is not a fan of the marriage track as the rest? The only marriage track I liked was the Monty Anokhi marriage track lol, atleast it had some sense and back story to it and the consequences of the marriage were rightful

But what about Shaurya-Anokhi marriage track? Why was this marriage even legit? And what's with this "pyar ke naam pe sacrifice karne chali thi na tum, ab dekho humari shadi kitni anokhi hoti hai" as said by Shaurya. Like bro agreed even I haven't seen any marriage like that and it's definitely a very anokhi shadi but in a wrong light. It was to teach Anokhi as to how to never give up on love but doing such a weird saazish with the bride on one of the most special occasions of her life is downright disgraceful and unacceptable. To top it, Anokhi even cried tears of joy after hearing it was her marriage? I would have slapped everyone present in team Shaurya along with their leader for doing this rubbish drama.

Anokhi was wrong into adhering to Tej's threats. Ok. But what about the continuous fights she was doing before that? That too all alone? Shaurya did assume that his family might pull some shit behind his back. But what did he do? Gave an empty warning and left for having south indian cuisine with his mom. I doubt if he even went to attend the supposed scheduled meeting in Patiala or not.

Also twitter teens fail to realise that Anokhi didn't give up on love but gave up when Shaurya's happiness and career was at stake because she knew the importance of career. True she could have discussed with Shaurya. But please I would have honestly backed out as well if I saw my to be in laws this vile. And after the confrontation she realised her mistakes and was ready to talk it out with Shaurya when he just stylishly walked out and planned this whole unnecessary marriage track which wasn't even needed tbh.

Fans say Anokhi would understand the value of love once she saw Shaurya getting married to his ex. But sis, had I seen my potential ex getting married to his ex happily, I would not have interfered and ask him to break his marriage on his mehendi ceremony like a typical itv third angle vamp. It's about self respect. This whole part was ridiculous and so out of character for a girl like Anokhi who always preaches about self respect.

Agree or not, both Shaurya and Anokhi lacked communication skills but Anokhi's bad communication skills were made a big deal and Shaurya's just plainly white washed. Not once have I seen twitter people pointing out about how Shaurya announced his and Anokhi's secret marriage to the family without consulting Anokhi and then Anokhi faces the whole embarrassment in college and all the blackmail shit. But oh well, "sHauRya hAd A tRouBlEd cHiLdhOod."

Man I really feel bad for Anokhi

Someone give a reboot which is more Anokhi centred please!

Sorry in advance if we differ in perspectives. We shall kindly agree to disagree :)

I completely understand your frustrations as a viewer. I still give the story a chance because of the conditions at hand:

A) covid and lockdown forced them to change the storyline quite a bit

B) the trp game of course made them change the storyline to pander to the audience who are more aligned with seeing saas-bahu drama.🤪

And as much as it is Anokhi’s story, it is also that of Shaurya’s struggle to come to terms with his past and his internalized views on relationships. I also liked that they didn’t change Shaurya’s character too much. He still had traces of patriarchy , he was still a misogynist after the marriage. What I absolutely didn’t like was the loose ends they left, Bebo-Kitty/ Bebo-anmol/ Alok/ Raja / Mr.Bhalla/Shagun / TejVi went coolly unpunished. Basically every wrong doing was either forgotten or let go. Yash went missing and so did Makkhan 🤔😁

I’m relatively new to ITV and this was my first show in years, so you can take my opinion with a pinch of salt. But despite my frustrations on how the tracks progressed, I made peace with what they showed, especially after watching some of the other typical ITV fare. 🤪🤷‍♀️
Also, I feel many here were sympathetic to the characters, cast, crew and the story, that many compromises in the storyline were accepted. I’m not sure if you followed the show along as they filmed ,or watched it much later when the show was ending or had already ended. Because that would definitely alter ones connection with the story and the characters. 😀

My take away from the show is not that it is perfect in any way, but that it touched on points that required some much needed discussion. Women’s Education, career, Misogyny, Patriarchy, Parampara, Marriage Rituals, Surname change, Egos, Sexual Harassment, Respect and much more. I don’t find all of these issues being shown in too many shows in a realistic way.

I agree that they didn’t have to rush thru and show all of the issues, it sometimes became too much of a lecture and many people lost interest post marriage track.🙃

Now if we take budget/ lockdown/ covid/ Trp out of the picture and have everybody in the cast present with the initial set of story writers , of course the story would’ve been great. They knew well ahead that they would’ve to shut shop and so hastily introduced the blackmail/ shaadi plot in hopes of gathering any trp they could gain. My 2 cents is that instead of a season 2 , with continuing the story, a reboot right from Holi Episodes would do better justice to the plot. 😀

I always say any sane person would have never married Shaurya after his stunt was disclosed on the mehndi day..

A person like Anokhi would have stood up for her self respect and would have refused to go ahead with the wedding..

No one saw the efforts she made to stand against Tej.. what she did was also keeping SS best interests in mind..since she herself missed her family.

Instead of being sympathetic and understanding her dilemma .. he mentally tortured her and arranged their marriage without even informing her..

Anokhi with her real characters intact would have immediately backed out and cut off ties wd whoever sided wd SS in this terrible plan...

Surprised these points are still being discussed about the show.

To be honest, show had longer list to complain about... And marriage track was definitely one of them. Anokhi and her feelings were often downplayed to portray Shaurya as great... But oh well... As Sandiip Sikcand of MHRW said... It's all about trps once.

For me story lost track after Anokhi fell for Shaurya initially like post the whole Kapurthala track... That's where makers screwed up mainly and trps started dwindling too... From 1.2. They should have nicely focused on Shaan Astha, Shaurya Astha, Anokhi and Family IN PARALLEL... Only focus on Saberwals + Shaurya and Anokhi made show trash after a point and hence couldn't fetch trps.

So many.... So many... Lost tracks... Incomplete stories and random wrap up... Bhallas should have had redemption track too...

Yes for sure budget/lockdown/trp etc externally or indirectly contribute to the story line. And also three of the prime cast members had to suffer because of covid and my heart goes out to them. All in all SAAKK never had saas-bahu drama so star points to that. Yeah but indian tv is bound to have family dramas. Let's not go into it since that won't change anytime soon.

As much as it is Shaurya's story it was Anokhi's story too–agreed and that's what was expected of the premise anyway. But somewhere along the lines I think it became a one man show, that is it solely focused on Shaurya's past and insecurities to the point where Anokhi's decisions also started revolving around Shaurya–that's where my problem lies. Abandonment issues are grave and I am glad a show in itv upholds about the same but why make a girl/bahu/love the ultimate cure to such a psychological issue. A person can be solace to the person suffering the abandonment issue but it can never be the cure intsead had they shown a therapy session for Shaurya maybe it would have been another revolutionary step in itv? Either way indian audience don't like such stuff and hence trp would have been affected.

Started watching the show few weeks before it went off air, so I am not THAT connected like others who have watched it along the show's original timeline. And pretty much understand their connect :)

@yellow. Absolutely and in the end Bebo kitty and Anokhi became friends and that too the step was initiated by Anokhi herself. I wouldn't even bat an eyelash towards those people who insult my character before the whole college and make memes about the same. But oh well, happy family things I guess. Alok still had some closure. Raja just vanished off to Narnia I guess? Mr. Bhalla's redemption made no sense. Tejvi suddenly decided to change. How and why? God knows. Honestly open ending would have been the best.

@pink. I have only watched three ITV shows in my life including SAAKK. Dahleez, Kuch rang pyaar ke aise bhi being the other two. And I only post criticism about those shows who are actually worth of having it. SAAKK had a potential but as u mentioned the external factors might have played the larger contribution into moulding the storyline. Other ITV content? Chuck it. Idc. It is senseless.

@Bold. Yes please give a reboot :").

Man agreed. Completely agreed. Like who was even the writer? How did this weird plot even pop up in their brain?

@Bold. Had I seen my sister being a part of this stupid plan, watch me beat the shit outta her. Aastha's motherly love took over and Shaan was peaceful with the fact that he had his happy family back. Their agreement to the plan had a point of view (Although Anokhi wasn't the concern either way) but why Ahir and Babli? For Anokhi's happiness? Had that been in question they would have been by her side whilst she was being guilt tripped and was in pain. But no. Team Shaurya for the win I guess.

I have seen people only lauding Shaurya for this weird marriage plan.

I had once posted about the same on twitter about how this marriage was wrong on many levels but since I had less followers like around 23 or something and wasn't an active participant I was called a hater and what not?

So I am writing in forum lol.

@green. Absolutely. Anokhi's feelings, her insecurities, her fears were neither heard by Shaurya nor the fans. Top of that trp. People love to see female leads crying. Don't they? How pitiful.

@red. Anokhi's love realisation was baseless. How? Why? When? Questions still left unanswered. But they had to keep it up so I made peace with the fact that yeah she fell in love.

@Bold. That's why asking for a reboot :"). The show has the potential is what I believe.

Shaurya nd anokhi ki kahaani had shaurya and shakhi fans nd very few anokhi fans

So keeping with twitter fandom demands the creatives became shaurya bhakts as well nd so ofcourse the characters in the story

There's another prob...the production house thinks twitter is the only place where fans are so they alter story based on their demands...bt there were many viewers who werent in twitter bt loved the show...the creatives disappointed them

After a point the show became sumthng which could neither satisfy the trp viewers nor the youth ( odr than horomonal teens nd preteens ofcourse)
