Baa could never be like Anupama. Nor a mother like anupama, wife or mother in law. She could never look after the house like Anupama could. She is just unfortunately like the typical woman who hates other women if they are better than her in anything.

You have summed up the 3 facets of Leelas hatred. Anupama came from a family of limited means. She was her MILs choice and not hers. What anger she could not show on her she started showing on the young Anupama.seeing his mother treat her like an unpaid maid, Ladla also started treating her as a lesser mortal. The reason could be Anupama didn't fetch a huge dowry.
Anupama compensated by her service and care. Since there was no monetary value to it Leela kept her in that state of servitude.

Anupama is one who treats all with love respect and bears no grudges to anyone.
She endeared her to everyone. Leelas caustic tongue and viewing all women as lesser mortals and manipulation which is her strong quality made her bitter.
