I am a newbie

Just started watching the show a few weeks back before it went off air

And used to stalk IF as well as twitter just to know opinions of everyone about what they think of this and that character etc etc.

I feel like I am the only one who actually feels for Anokhi a lot more, like the girl ever since she was little had to face borderline abuse from her father and her mother and sister always advised her to bear with it. Anokhi faced all of it strongly and got to the place where she is today

This whole fiasco about Anokhi's life wasn't even discussed in the show? What Shaurya went through is terrible as well and no child deserves that but I believe somewhere his childhood wasn't pathetic, true that mother's absence in itself is very painful emotionally and it had its rightful story to tell but for that why was Anokhi's past brushed off like that? They brought in Anokhi's parents just for the "never give up" marriage session and got them married...? This part of the story was so overboard for me like and also it didn't suit Shaurya's character arc somewhere cause I think before marriage two partners should get to know each other well and I believe neither of the two knew each other to depths, even if Anokhi did know bits and pieces of Shaurya's past, Shaurya didn't even know an ounce of Anokhi's past

I think instead of marriage they could have showed maybe a marital courtship? Either way Anokhi is UG 2nd year student it's her time to enjoy life, chill and study not balance between house, study and a man who wants his spouse to make him her first priority? Kinda think writers lacked here

They could have shown Anokhi and Shaurya in a courtship for two years or so where they get to know each other, spend some time together, go on dates, have romantic talks about future etc etc and then them getting married maybe when Anokhi is doing her masters? By then Shaurya would probably be 32-33 and Anokhi 23-24? I think it's perfect

But on twitter I saw fans were so hyped for this marriage session followed by what would happen in suhaagraat etc etc which kinda put me off, I believe it's not necessary to show marriage in a relationship to ensure that "yes they are a couple!" No like they can date as well and maybe they could have left the marriage for season 2 opening? Where in the original premise would start? About career vs balancing family?

Maybe I am a little too much biased for Anokhi cause I believe her character wasn't properly explored and nor we got a character growth and also fans bashing her left and right for every little thing she does just irks me a lot, like you yourself are a woman try to put yourself in her shoes and think why she does that? But I have seen fans just want Anokhi to romance Shaurya, to only love Shaurya, to only pamper Shaurya etc basically just want her world to revolve around Shaurya only and I genuinely feel bad for her regarding that and that's how much I got attached to her. After Dr.Sonakshi Bose from Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi, Anokhi Bhalla tops my list of strong, determined female leads of itv

These two women >>> any other itv woman

Sorry for the rant and let me know your thoughts as well :)

Much love

Agree with every thing u said

The makers started the show with a story of their own nd den modified it based on audience's demands totally destroying the actual premise of the show

Anokhi's nd shaurya's characters needed a lot more exploration as well their relationship

They basically didnt have a courtship period...dey didnt understand each odr fully bt decided to get married coz twitter fans wanted it....

Exactly and twitter fans only want romance (sorry if I sound rude) but relationship dynamics have so much more to it than just romance

And Shaurya and Anokhi's relationship could have been explored a lot more but oh well fans demand is what makes a show survive in the market I guess

I have seen paragraphs justifying the wrong doings of Shaurya just because of his sad past but Anokhi makes a mistake it's a huge deal and she should not have done that, sounds extremely biased i know but I think the writers and fans have failed to do justice to Anokhi and only Debattama brought the life into this name and made her so human

Its the case with every tv show...fan girls will always justify every wrong doing of the male lead nd the purpose of female lead is only to mollycoddle him

Nd dat takes away from the strength of every female lead in itv...u name any show, its always this dat happens

The real story was lost within a month or two..

Then with the trp game .. the entire plot turned upside down...

I think it's also bcz of too much interference of the channel n that off air news every now n then....makers couldn't show many tracks properly...it was rushed....I so wanted the courtship period to b long... .. Shaurya didn't even ask her if she wanted to get married, 1st tym he didn't wanted to loose her so he did that in rage but 2nd tym also he didn't asked what she wanted.... clearly here Anokhi's part wasn't explored

On TT most of the fans r teens...so they can't think deeper things in a relationship beyond romance...

The show is a remake of Bengali version so story was going according to that as well as fans demand..

I think the FF writers here can give even better script...

I, myself am not a fan of romance genre in general

That's why itvs never clicked with me well, but this show's premise and promo was so so good! That's why I started

I won't say it went downhill completely but yes it couldn't stick to some of the things it promised to but I don't regret watching it because I think among the main stream shows rn on tv this was kinda out of the box

Twitter fans feel proud of the fact that this show pin points reality...but honestly I believe a fiction can be close to reality but NOT reality

Tbh any sane woman would stay away from a family like Sabherwals in my opinion and it's not any girl's duty to change the year old misogyny ingrained by the family in the brains of their heir by falling in love with him but that is what it is

ITV really needs to move on from the fact that "a woman can change a man with her love" like no one needs to change themselves with time because I believe it's time that changes everything

Sort of yes

Writers couldn't balance between the whole career and love story thing honestly and completely shifted the focus to the love story only and highlighted onto the fact that I "one should not give up on love"

Even if a season 2 comes (the amount of demand I see makes me think that a possibility is there) I want a reboot or something where they focus on the character growth of Anokhi and Shaurya also a focus on Shaan/Aastha back story would be a cherry on top of the cake

The only parallel love story that I genuinely liked in the show

Bold-the reason the promo repelled me...i was lyk fu*k their opinions...who cares what barelog ka chote soch is...a girl's purpose isnt changing odr's misogynistic ideals

The leads chemistry pulled me towards the show nd i started to watch it much later on also becoz my exams got postponed nd i was bored

Honestly odr than the leads chemistry nd the brilliant acting and potrayal of anokhi's struggle in the initial episodes deir is nothing remarkable abt the show

Omg! Yes I said the same thing in a reply

I want a reboot too!

Tbh I have even seen grown up married woman not supporting Anokhi on twitter lol

Second time he got married without her consent in a great grand gala way wherein Anokhi's very own professor and inspiration Aastha had no objection when in earlier episodes she had encouraged her not to prioritise marriage over education

And on top of that Anokhi was having her semester exams while this whole marriage was being conducted, should the participant family members not have looked into this matter before conducting the marriage? I don't even come out of my room when I have my 20 marks assessment going on let alone semester exams and here she is doing marriage and exams all together

Anokhi should have protested about the same but she blatantly accepted it which is sort of out of character for her

Yet all her so called well wishers had put her through an emotional turmoil for having paid heed to Tej's threats

Merely a 20 year old girl, she is bound to get scared and take impulsive decisions

It should have been the responsibility of an adult to make her sit calmly and make her understand about the whole thing and situation once she blurted out the whole truth, instead of taking such a huge step like marriage? These things kind of made no sense to me could have been executed better

Yes I know it is an adaptation of Mohor

I am a bengali myself but I never watched it though so I don't know what happens in there
