Hello ladies,

Happy new year!!! May you all have a blessed and healthy year ahead!!

I have started this thread so I have one place to write down all my musings as I go through the episodes. It's not going to be in any particular sequence, since I tend to move back and forth between episodes but I'll try to list episode numbers on the next post for ease of reference. I'll also try to limit my musings to one post per episode... Hence they might be edited multiple times depending on how many times I watch the episode (highest watch for me at the moment is the episode just after they finish the marriage rituals) and I'll try and update that in the topic title.

You're welcome to post replies on here, bit a small request to not post chit chat since that means I'll have to open a new thread quicker (I really don't fancy that).

I know we have an edt.. But my sporadic viewing means i have to sift through all my posts in the EDT to find my episode "analysis" if I have previously watched the episode.

Enjoy!!

I had to leave halfway through episode 158.. I will be back with a complete review on that. However, today I decided to skip through and watch today's episode as is, without reading the live update.

Some thoughts (again detailed review will come later) in the next post ๐Ÿ˜Š

Pixie and piu thank you for the kind words. I hope you enjoy reading my point of view on the episodes as much as I enjoy writing it.

Edit (11/11/2021)

I need to finish some work so thoughts on episode 250 will have to wait till later tonight. Learnt my lesson... Always type elsewhere!

Episode 250

Just putting this here... Shiva is wearing the shirt Raavi chose for him in episode 156/157...Im 99% sure!! Rest of the musing tomorrow after I wake up ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜‰

Edit (11/11/2021)

Okay take two of writing this episode analysis, my way

We start with a continuation of the previous episode where Dhara pulls up behind the auto that Anita and then Gautam, sit in. - This continuation is much appreciated since we sometimes get scenes that have been edited out or put out of place i.e later in the episode and the momentum is lost (Atl east for me since I watch the episodes usually back to back).

Dhara is emotionally overwhelmed because of the hormones and feels as though he is lying and defeated almost at not catching him red handed, she goes back home. She does need to introspect a bit because she has loved her husband for ten years, to then doubt his fidelity is a disgrace to her love.

I don't understand how the very grounded and sensible Gautam that we were shown earlier (even the younger Gautam pre-leap) has now become such a confused and unsure character. He is essentially the eldest in the family (bar Suman) and for him to be so unsure of the next step is a disgrace to both himself and his bond with Dhara. They have been married for ten years. She knows his ticks, when he's lying or hiding something and now that he doing it, surely he can see its working her up.

He's stuck in a vicious cycle of hiding - her doubt - her getting worked up - harmful for the baby - stressing him out, over and over. Dude just tell the woman so she takes care of herself (side note I watched 251 and the advice from the doctor to not tell her is the stupidest thing I've ever heard, usually don't they discuss all pros and cons especially if there is anything wrong to let them understand the whole situation? At least mine did).

Coming on to the the one untouched bond(fingers crossed they don't touch it) of Hardik and Gautam. Hardik is stuck between his friend and his sister. He loves his sister so fights with his friend and then when he speaks to Dhara who doubts him as well when he talks to her about Gautam and Anita, there is the briefest glimpse of sympathy for his friend. Also Gautam teasing Hardik was love!

Although in this part, I would have liked to see Gautam share the doctor's concern with Hardik instead of Anita. He's only become friends with Anita because she saved Dhara. That cannot classify them as such close friends that he can share something this personal with her. Gautam's thought of Hardik taking the news on a different tangent was a bit uncalled for; he was the same friend who kept the secret of Gautam and Dhara's decision to not have children from everyone, even keeping the fact that he knew, from his own sister. Wouldn't he then have made a better secret keeper?

The we have the fight between Dev and Rishita. Rishita is playing into the hands of her bua. She wants Dev to not decide when her family sends anything for her, but she is okay to then demand her haq from their house. She is right in that aspect but she needs to realise that Dev also deserves the same equality. Dev could have used so many other examples of returning the washing machine, not that saying it was going to was a hit at his ego was wrong per se, as a husband I'm sure he wishes to provide for his wife and doesn't want to have to take anything from his in laws.

Then the next day calling Rishita the boss when he's been working on the project the longest, justified his anger in my eyes. For someone who is constantly being called out for every decision being made (Yes some were justified, like the lingerie section being separate for men and women, in another episode I caught the clip of) to be told that his plans, which just a by the way have been approved by council, are not the plans being followed is plain stupidity. The council will come and ask you to re-do it according to the permit. At least they moved aside to have the argument.

On a side note here

1) we might make fun of Dev and his MBA degree, but we don't know what exactly he studied before his MBA. If he's done structural engineering for example, he could possibly be good at making building plans, knowing what is right etc which is why he made the plans for the bedroom too (Just a thought)

2) They got Rishita to enter as Shiva did during the pag phera ritual but she fell a bit short (Pun intended). She might have a strong personality but she cannot carry off the attitude wala walk.

Next we come to Krish, a scene not really required, but shows potential of character growth from Krish. He's the same person who is least concerned about what he says and what others think about. now, even if its Kirti, he stops to think.

Lastly, we come to Shiva and Raavi, Shiva is irritated. He's been stuck with teaching her how to ride a bike (a decision he made as he normally does when it comes to her, emotionally). It shows that he doesn't want to, but he still does and he teaches her properly...Where everything is on the bike CBA and Raavi repeating everything that he is showing.. I love the "Oh another brake" and he tells her to concentrate. Then she sits and follows his steps, concentrating on how to start. He sits behind her and moves slightly closer and she gets nervous. She is getting what she wanted without even asking, chipkaoing together. Consider that she doesnt "Love" him she's enjoying it quite abit.

Then we have her riding it and the whole scene was just pure joy to watch. We see Shiva and Raavi living in the present, a teacher and student, friends, partners who are just spending some time together without the burden of their world on them for that little time. Their possessiveness for each other takes a quick peek out in the conversation with mami.

Overall the episode was so well balanced, we got to see a bit of all the brothers their confusions, their problems and how they all deal with it and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it despite the melodrama in certain parts.

@bold It's protocol to keep the patient in the loop unless and until it actually isn't possible (if they're unconscious or their mental development isn't sufficient, in which case a guardian or spouse would be informed insteas). Technically Dhara can sue the doctor for giving her those shots, whatever they are, without informed consent. It wouldn't matter that Gautam has consented.

@pink I feel like Gautam, before his wedding treated Anita as a friend he was slightly fond of because of the idea of the marriage between them. Post wedding, we don't see him interacting with Anita until the haveli track, where we see reluctance and mild dislike on his side. So, I actually see it as a rekindled old friendship in Gautam's point of view now, instead of a brand new friendship. Perhaps that's only the way I see it?

@blue Again, a slightly different perspective. I understand that Hardik is trustworthy both as a friend and a secret keeper, but after the room kaand when Gautam actually tried to explain things and was legit putting in a lot of effort to find a way to build the room for Dhara, I feel like I get him too. Hardik is not only a brother but also a parental figure to Dhara, and so when it comes to situations where it's one versus the other (unlike the collective decision to not have children) he does tend to support Dhara. And that's not wrong. So, although exaggerated I don't see Gautam worry to be out of place (though I do admit that he's better than Anita, no matter what๐Ÿ˜†)

@purple I really, really hope that what you're saying is true... I would love it if Krish starts thinking about Kirti, gets pitaofied by Janu eventually, then chooses to keep the thinking part....

@green I feel like the depth of Raavi's feelings are deeper than what we've seen, because she doesn't see it either. Whereas for Shiva, post marriage it's kinda like a mami shaped veil lifted off Raavi and he liked what he saw, I think for Raavi it's a repeated reaffirmation and increase in depth of her pre wedding image of Shiva. She still wants the same things from him to a huge extent, complete acceptance, and a positive relationship. But now there's a fear of abandonment and naming feelings (I'm assuming the second) that's also multiplied in depth. I feel like for us to understand her, she needs to do that first. Sadly, she's simply a confused soul right now.

PS Sorry about the mini essay Min๐Ÿ˜ƒ!!! But I love the way you put your thoughts into words and couldn't stop myself from sharing...๐Ÿ˜† I'm off to classes now!!!

This is a nice take on yesterday's episode.

The writers are clearly confused and unable to carry on a tangent thought. It clearly shows in the editing, pacing of scenes and characters in the show.

The writers have clearly decided that in Pandya land logic does not work, amnesia in terms of feelings and words are clearly the way to go and being in constant state of confusion is what Pandya's thrive in.

The only characters whose feelings are constant are Janu, Mami and Bua. Clearly one dimensional character with clear intentions and goals.

Coming to Gautam and Dhara, their relationship was the pillar around which these Pandya's live. Put a crack on that everything comes tumbling down. The Anita angle could have been more maturely handled, considering all these characters have grown and learnt from the mistakes they have made. Showing Anita being stuck in a limbo since last 10 years is showing the character had no growth. Clearly she has seen Gautam and Dhara growing, loving and sense the depth in their relationship. There was nothing concrete for her to believe that she can become a part of Gautam's live as a love interest.

The current way the writers are handling a ten years old relationship is clear only possible in Pandyaland.

The Doctor of Pandyaland again have no association with reason, logic or reality. The writers are clearly forcing us with an illogical sequence to fit in some illogical and delusional scenes.

Dev and Rishita - Dev is clearly not capable of handling a relationship. He is not mature enough. I will give him the benefit that he is very young and this probably his first romantic relationship which kind of went into matrimony without either of them understanding each other and there aspirations. Given the right amount of time and communication this will improve. But for that both these have mature and understand the meaning of equality in a relationship. Which is clearly not possible in Pandyaland.

Shiva and Raavi are worst hit by writers amnesia. Raavi is a character who is been abandoned and rejected by the love of her life, publicly for which she tried commuting suicide. This is a very big issue to be brushed under the carpet. This emotionally damaged girl, however forgiving , naive or dillusional she maybe, she needs time to comprehend feelings. Shiva is falling in love for the first time with a girl who has huge emotional baggage which is not dealt with at all. And now all they want is to put the burden of a failed relationship on this girl, victimize her for sympathy and then have her accept Shiva as the love of her life. How???

The absolute worst is Suman's character being reduced to a evil saas. She has been strict, strong and always logical. But now they have just started making her the villian of Shivi's love story, which she clearly never was.

The only reason I watch this because of Kdice
