This episode and the one following have my heart. I love the slow change in the ShaKhi dynamic. I also like that everyone is discussing them without them knowing! The elders around them are concerned while these two live in their bubble.

SHAKHI

They are in their happy bubble of reminiscing, joking, smiling, and trying to figure out their new dynamic. Anokhi thanks Shaurya for him saving her from riots, kidnapping, and rustication. All of which he brushes off as something he would do for anyone. He does seems to enjoy the acknowledgement and also she might be trying to figure out if she's special to him. She finally apologizes for interfering between Shaurya and Aastha. The mention of hunger and stopping for a meal and protein bars really makes me crave a dhaba date for them.

They get lost and without phone network. Shaurya is such a stereotype and won't ask for directions. Why so much ego, Professor? I love his inner monologue to control his anger. Anokhi is saying very reasonable statements but they're all a hit to Shaurya's ego. "Ek aur baar try" until they almost run out of fuel.

They are Tom and Jerry! She's got to point our deficiencies and he's got to take umbrage and yell at her. He says sorry five times that the word almost lost its meaning like Anokhi points out to her sir. "Itna bhi sir mat boliye na" makes a comeback. He's not a professor 24/7 and would like to be viewed as a person(maybe a man?). And thus PS is born! She made a promise not to leave SIAC because "she has a great chance in this world" and he promised to never slander another person due to anger.

SHASTHA

Shaan is doing a meet cute with flowers for Aastha. They are restarting while ShaKhi is just starting. The parallels we deserved from this story are innumerable. Shaan has accepted divorce as just a formality that had to be signed to fulfill a karz to Devi. I wish Shaan had found this spirit 25 years earlier. He came prepared with wanting friendship, asking for a dinner date and bringing food along.

Like all parents, dinner conversation is about their child. Aastha assesses that Shaurya likes Anokhi due to his ajeeb behavior and Shaan chalks it up to guilt. Shaan isn't wrong that Shaurya has been brainwashed not to like strong girls, especially one that resembles his mother so much. Love isn't a math equation.

"Pyar hai kisko? Shaurya kar nahi sakta, Anokhi karegi nahi. Aisa nahi ke Anokhi ko pyar nahi ho sakta lekin Shaurya se to bilkul nahi" He bases this on their tom/jerry interactions and Anokhi not uttering nice things about Shaurya.

Aastha understands though "shikayat main bhi pyar hota hai, woh kisiko dikhai nahi deta". That thin line between love and hate! Shaan isn't wrong to worry "main nahi chahta ke Anokhi ya Shaurya ka koyi bhi dil ka rishta ho" because he doesn't want a repeat of Shastha!

Side note:

~ I really liked ShaKhi ending scene with "ego aur ghussa idar hi chod ke jaaye" and they both smiled and laughed. Hayye the comfort!

~ SH scenes were just filler for the episode. The cute game and dance of Kajra re. Bemol was in the middle of it all. Tejvi are concerned. Alok as always adding fuel to a fire. Kanchan revels in Devi's delusion about her best laid plans while Gayatri is so empathetic towards her.

They were already all about each other without realising it. This is the second time they are having a proper conversation. First being after the kidnapping.

The camaraderie between Shakhi is new so both are them are going about it in tenterhooks. Both want this entente to work and are working at it. This is the major observation of this part of the car ride. There is also a beginning of comfort, without that constant awareness which was there before.

Both Shaan and Aastha are correct in their position. Aastha does not mind as she would like a person like Anokhi in her son's life whilst Shaan dread having another Aastha. What Shaan is wrong about is that hus son is more like Aastha than him.

The smile, ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Kanchan whilst being a possible support is a bit too over the top and careless around the house...

One of my favourite episodes.

The car seen is such a treat for all SAAKKians.

I liked seeing Shaurya being a man in his approach. Everytime Anokhi thanks him he is somewhat embarassed and pass it off as his duty. At this point in time the equation is of a man and a woman in the care travelling all alone at night. Shaurya looks very conscious about it unlike Anokhi who is all excited about going back to Chandigar. She does appreciate everything Shaurya has done for her and the surprise was her apology concerning Aastha business. That was a mature way of responding to Shaurya, showing the woman nature.

At the SM, all activities were filler, except that the bebo part was supposed to be expanded. Too bad.

Whilst the Shastha scene showed us the different perspectives related to Shakhi, I find it hard to digest this transformation of Shaan. Astha has kept the same attitude while Shaan has metamorphosed himself. There should have been some development for this change to happen.

Lol.. Kanchan the over-enthusiastic dunderhead 🤪 I personally found the actress a bit over the top while pulling Shaurya’s leg( SS rightfully said -“so filmy yaa” 😁) but she did a decent job in some of the sober scenes later.

Great episode. We were all so looking forward to it Shakhi madness was reaching a high!😁

@bold:

I guess Aastha’s accident and her going missing was a turning point for many. Shaurya and Anokhi even though always at loggerheads, finally came together. I didn’t find Shaan too out of the place though. Were you referring to his change towards Aastha or Anokhi? ( sorry I haven’t rewatched the episode , but respond to reviews from memory 😀)
He wanted a second chance , a fresh start. In fact , I didn’t like how stoic and unrelenting Aastha was towards both Shaurya and Shaan. Agreed she suffered through a lot, but now that she had an established career and an opening to restart a relationship. I felt she would’ve looked forward to mending some bridges.
Shaan always said “Shaurya bilkul apne Maa pe gaya hain” , he also knew how persistent and strong Anokhi was. And he rightfully thought they might not be in love, especially since Shaurya broke off his engagement with Shagun. I liked how they paralleled the new beginnings for Shakhi and Shaastha in the episode.

How do they know they travelled together in the train? Did I miss something?

Ss really didn’t need thanks for saving her in riots but didn’t like the fact that she gave credit to the wrong person. Is it that the person was Ahir that made it worse for him? She finally realised that she interfered too much with regards to Astha and Ss. He is not much affected and took Astha’s name very casually. This change was seen first after he saved her from goons.

Anokhi… she way way too excited to be back in Chandigarh as soon as possible. She after all went against her father and others to pursue her dream. How sad she must’ve been from the inside to leave the institute..

and Anokhi ..what’s this? She didn’t even ask him if he wanted some protein bar? He said we shall eat something and Anokhi…she didn’t even think of him until she realised later when it was finished. Did he have only one bar in the car? And we get to see his egoistic nature… doesn’t want to take help. Anokhi is really anokhi… Ss ne aise hi Bol diya we took a wrong turn but no. She wasn’t ready to take the blame. It was really funny to see how hard he was trying to control his anger and frustration. He decided that he can’t risk losing Anokhi. He bottled up his frustration/anger so much that he couldn’t hold his anger anymore and then follows a chain of sorries to make up for it. Itna bhi sorry Mat boliye sir… and itna bhi sir mat boliye. His wish out in open once again not to be called sir… Waise hum bahar Milne wale nahin and his slight reaction.

The start of the famous PS. I remember how much I cribbed at that name but by the end got used to it so much that it didn’t feel odd anymore. The way he encouraged her to finish her education and spoke about her ability it must’ve come as a shock when A knew of the reason of his break up with Shagun. And it hit him hard when she requested him to not repeat such things to anyone. Yes it made him think how hurt she was.

And I love this dialogue… apna gussa aur ego yahan chod kar jaiye… the small smile on his face gives away a lot…the way she talks to him and the way he pulls her with all right doesn’t seem like a professor student. They are so involved with each other without even realising themselves.

What happened to Shaan all these years? Is it Anokhi’s arrival in Siac that provided a link to Astha which was completely lost earlier? I need a proper backstory as to why neither Shaan nor Astha made any effort. And how does he think that his family would accept Astha? Especially Ss? Ok first he wants to get rid of his own complainants but there will come a point where he’ll have to announce about this? And Astha… how is it any different if the divorce has happened? They were anyway not in contact all these years. I agree with Shaan that divorce is just a sign on the paper and this doesn’t mean you need to remove the person from your heart and mind. But at the same time I don’t understand Shaan’s plan as well. Has he decided that this time around he’ll go against his family and son?

Astha’s words about love.. how true. It’s not math equation that needs to be equal on both sides and can change. Here Astha thinks in an emotional way where as Shaan thinks logic and his logic says that there can’t be love given their opinion about each other and their situations. Yes whatever Shaan said about Shaurya not liking a strong woman might be true but it was the idea that was instilled into him that made him think so and it is definitely difficult to change but not impossible as Shaan thinks. In matters of love the heart always wins and has its ways. So Astha though hasn’t mothered him knows what he feels about Anokhi.
