In @bold is your answer. Where he doesn't have a stake, he mostly finds it easy to correctly gauge right or wrong - because uske fayde/nuksaan ka koi scope nahi hain wahaan. But when it comes to himself - he can't be wrong, he cannot take criticism - no introspection.

Unlike others, Pratik doesn't work to canvass goodwill or build alliances, etc. - it's I, me, myself for him. What would be interesting to see is what Pratik would do in a situation where Nishant were glaringly wrong.

Naa...he'll find a way to defend it as well. This rule applies not just to him, but his close ones as well. He'll manage to find some loop hole and defend it as well.
