Yeah I did not see that episode... Also I dont think Virat and Sai's marriage and what it entails can be compared here...

I read a lot of posts about the episode before I watched it today. I had the impression Virat had gone to PK in private to ask her, after she had already refused the others, rather than it all being one exchange. The Virat and PK scene did not bother me as much. Sai put PK on the spot and Samrat had already answered on PK's behalf saying of course she will do it. She was about to say something to Samrat (the usual hissing of his name), when Virat followed it up with one request, but I did not see this as him having a soft spot for her, but a normal interaction. She is known to be someone who loves getting decked up. Despite Sai clearly having lots of makeup, I think the suggestion is she does not because Shivan said in the previous episode that she was ordering her some and she should start wearing it for Virat. Maybe he was following up when she was about to say something to Samrat to avoid another issue in an already tense situation. I think PK was already in a corner and would not have refused in front of the whole family, particularly after what Samrat said. I didn't feel like Virat was insisting at all, but simply followed what Sai and Samrat said in the same manner and tone. He ultimately left the choice to her when she told her she was yet to answer. I think if there was anything more to read into it from Virat's side then he would have pushed her more by saying please you are the only one who can help, etc. Obviously, PK may give it more importance in her own head. It was also done in front of the family and not by themselves, like in the Harinee track, so I don't think PK could have really refused without questions being raised, even where she has been disrespectful in the past.

I actually feel there has been a shift in Virat and how he is also talking to PK publicly in front of the appropriate people, which is him, subtly and maybe unconsciously, finally taking on board what Aai told him about PK still being the third person for Sai. I was going to make a post about it, but I am not sure I have the energy!

But my point is if he can see PP is already cornered and has to respond coz Samrat her husband already said yes on her behalf then why should he even get involved.

And eventually having pp agree only after virat asked her twice is not needed

So I'd have preferred that virat had not said anything ay this juncture because why should he talk about make up/dress up. And if he had to talk I'd rather have virat casually brush her aside even for things like this and say- ok since pp isnt saying anything, lets ask shivani/Karishma or maybe ask Sai to manage it herself.

I am also not thrilled that Sai suggested pp in the first place.

When everyone knows pp's stance about anniversary, why ask her to help? Shes not going to do it dil seh.

So while I'm not thrilled with Sai's request to pp, i think this is her new meethi churi approach. Shivani was decorating with samrat and Sai is doing other taiyyari so she brought up pp i guess. Plus i got the unsaid subtext that Sai/Samrat must feel that its the only thing shes useful at- decking herself up.

But virat being nice to pp even for something casual is undigestible. It nreds to be ignore or taunt/give back. Anything else like politeness, explanations, concern is uncalled for because of the current relationship dynamic they have.

Twitter fans think it is Neil soft voice modulation that made the scene look bad. Had he used same tone as samrat then scene would have looked normal. What you think 🤔

I don't disagree with your POV and it makes perfect sense. Goes to show there can be many perspective on the same situation. I don't understand why Sai had to ask her, rather than Shivani in the first place. My preference would also be or Virat to say nothing or not be as soft in his response if he is to speak. So my preference would be the same as yours. I think I am not as agitated about it when I just bear in mind who Virat is and how he has been. He generally avoids confrontation and I chose (maybe wrongly) to see his intervention as trying to prevent a further PK issue/questions being raised during what is already a tense situation relating to his parents relationship. You're right that she did agree after Virat asked her, but my view is he asked her once and she would have had to accept or explain to Samrat anyway. Her accepting after his asking, I think, is more to do with her than causing me to read further into Virat's action. I don't think he is ever going to be disrespectful to her in public, as that is not in keeping with who he is or how he has been, however much I wish he would! I also didn't read any subtext in what Sai or Samrat said, but I'll watch again as I only saw the IG clips.

I have accepted that in front of the family he will not say or do too much. That's fine.

But the main reason I am annoyed is because I loved the beginning scene of Sairat pp so much. It put pp in her place. So after that scene, going back to seeing virat talking sweetly, requesting pp is jarring. Its so raat gayi baat gayi types. But pp doesn't deserve such courtesy.
