Is it necessary to kill off main leads - Page 2

I was a big fan of the original show when Naitik-Akshara where the leads. Even today I rewatch thier episodes but later when I remember what tragic end the makers gave her character, I get sas thinking about it.

And now the same thing happened with Kartik-Naira.

I understand that leaps are bound to happen and actors do not want to age onscreen but why can't makers just hire older actors to play the same characters?

Why not give them a happy life and thier kids a happy family for once?

When they can change actors from childhood to adulthood, why not change them to show middle-age or seniority?

It's just sad that a once beloved character is brutally killed off and thier children almost always grow up as orphans

Couldn't agree more. Shows a lack of creativity..

i agree. it really gets to me when they kill the characters off! i mean akshara and natik could well have moved somewhere. Natik barely had a role after akshara so why just make him disappear never to be heard of again!!! Why not let him and akshara go abroad to set a venture somewhere and the kids go to visit them regularly!! same with choti sardarni! how awful to kill the main characters!

And now why kill sirat and Kartik!!! why why why! why could they just not let them live somewhere else! and still shown a rivalry between sisters! they didnt have to kill sirat to show that!

I stopped watching all these dramas now. We spend years watching the characters grow, get married become parents and all to end in them being killed off tragically! if these producers dont change their way then they wont have any shows left! Thats why shows like aparama stay on top! because they showing stories...real life events that happen...without killing main characters off all the time!

I had suggested on the forum weeks back the same thing that the roles of kaira could have been recast with older actors for generation leap so that it is at least shown they live a happy and fulfilling life as a couple even if the characters will no longer be the leads. Kaira ended up living a shorter life than naithik-akshara.

I agree they could build a storyline around a mature couple, what challenges they face or how thier love progresses in later stage of life but no! Almost every serial kills of thier msibs just to show a leap. Either u age or get ready to die

Exactly! Atleast Naira knew her mother till adulthood but poor Akshu never met her mother even
