In Chavan family only Omkar and Virat are truly earning money. Ninad is a pensioner and perhaps Bhavani too receives one. Both their pension money must be exhausted for their medical bills since both are hypertensive (as declared by Patralekha who is the only person genuinely concerned about their health) Mohit's earnings are on & off and Samrat is jobless at this moment. IPS Virat Chavan is famous for spending money only on his wife! He buys her gifts and arranges birthday and wedding anniversary surprises for her. So the other person left would automatically becomes the major contributor (even if he earns only 1000 rupees per month!)

Btw what expenses does this family have? They don't even have a maid? Do they really require to spend much for their groceries considering their frequent ugly shows at the dining table? The only noticeable thing in that house is Sonali's jewelry so Omkarji must be running an artificial jewelry shop through which he manages to get all that heavy stuff for Sonali.

Or may be he started a beauty parlor post Samrat's return and he gets what all is left off in Samrat's earnings before going MIA. Patralekha is his regular customer!
