Let's relive SAAKK Season 1 together from the beginning, as we manifest a Season 2 together!
What grabbed my attention in this episode is the difference a mother makes in the character of their child. Devi has brought up Shaurya, what has he been learning all his life is middle class girls are always using men to reach their goals. They befriend men in high position and use them as ladders to climb the social ladder and get their work done. Middle class girls need contacts to get their way in life.
Aastha even though has not mothered Anokhi has been her guiding light. She is asking Anokhi that when you are wronged you should not accept defeat but fight for your right. You should let the person know how wrong he is, If you are not feeling fell hearing such vile things about yourself you should let the person said it to you feel the worst and realised his mistake.
In this episode I like this Aastha character. The problem is she is ready to fight for Anokhi but not her son.
She must be realising what has happened to her son du=e to her neglect, Has she ever taken responsibility for what Shaurya said to Anokhi.
Why did Shaurya blow his top?
He started feeling that Anokhi understands him and he could have another tupe of relationship with her outside college, hence his request not to be called Sir, but at the same time, it is obvious to himthat ACO is very much interested in Anokhi. To all of us, it is so obvious, hence he feels Anokhi is playing around with him and ACP.
When he touched her arm and she felt hurt, he believed she was repulsed and the words came out,
I am sorry mere choune se toumhe problem horahi hein, surprising even I am quite rich and famous.
Defining her as a loose character.
Why did he say, Aaj ke baad mera tere se koyi lena dena nahin"
Shaurya has mixed everything. He is no more a Professor talking to his student, but a man who started feeling something for a girl and could not stand seeing her with another man.
What about Anokhi in all this:
Her expression said it all, She is dumb where men are concerned. Her main aim in life is to study and get a job and help her mum and sister. For her Ahir is a cop who can help her with her sister's case and Shaurya is her Professor. She may have been talking to him on his personal life but it was always related to aastha and never about herself. She cannot comprehend his words/ actions/ thoughts as she never looked at Shaurya in the form of a potential boyfriend. She has been aware of him physically but would never act on it.
She must be having the shock of her life because the Prof she admired thought of her as a girl who can use her feminine wiles to trap a man.
I am happy she said, Ghatiya hum nahin , ghatiya aap ki soch hein.
I am sure once Shaurya is in his office would have felt the effect of her words and hence was justifying his actions by saying that why is she pretending as if she does not know that Ahir is interested in her?
Now, he asks himself why is he not comfortable with this thought?
He has insulted a student of SIAC and believes it is nothing? In what world does he come from?
Finally for once Shaan was the father he should have been all his life and told Shaurya some bitter truths, He is the one with the dirty mind .
Ghatiya wo nahin, ghatiya tum ho, tumhara soch hein, aur tumhari parvarish..
That was the cherry on the cake, Devi getting the ultimate compliment on her upbringing of Shaurya. Shaan had the last word and Shaurya was almost stuttering in his own defense...
I like the episode, not what happened and the words used by Shaurya was very harsh, but it was needed for Aastha and Shaan to realise the effect of their abandoning their duty as parents to Shaurya...
I could see aastha and Shaan both reflecting on it without saying a word...
Wrath of Mr Sabherwal continues and reaches another level where he refuses to see that it’s her pain from the injury that’s making her squirm. Instead attributes to his touch which is a rich man’s and she shouldn’t have a problem with. His disrespectful remarks about a small town girl using contacts to grow up the ladder, not deserving respect, using Acp, calling her a loose character and what not… a girl can never bear to hear such things and it’s not forgivable. Anokhi is no less when it comes to giving back when it comes to her self respect and is ready to leave rather than being humiliated more. Aapko apni ghatiya soch aur college Mubarak ho..
And what did he say? Galthi tum karthee ho aur villain mujhe bana dethi? Please explain clearly what galthi she did? Acp being friendly with her is not her mistake. And how does it affect you?
Did she not feel like asking how her using Acp if at all affects him? Yes she felt but given that she was leaving wouldn’t get a chance.
Ss’s jealousy has reached a level where he knows that Acp likes her and thinks she is enjoying the attention. He clearly questioned himself why Acp liking her is affecting him but couldn’t figure out the reason. Why did he not sit and think through like this before even behaving with Anokhi that way? It gets me thinking …Does he really know what loving someone is like? Did he not feel jealous the time he was in ‘love’ with Shagun? Not even a single instance where he felt possessive and jealous? Given that they were in love for 2 years he should’ve at least come across such situation once or twice. A very common feeling when you are in love. Had he experienced this feeling earlier he would’ve realised why he is feeling so right now.
Astha realised that it was Shaurya who hurt Anokhi and just a sense of disappointment in Astha’s eyes has gotten Shaan into action. Astha telling that they have to make Ss realise what grave mistake he did is right… if no one corrects him he will be of the wrong impression which has been the case till now. She realises that all the wrong that has been done to him by abandoning him needs to be addressed and not taken easy.
Mini version of ss’s slur on Anokhi continues but Shaan does react strongly to the point where he raises his hand. I wonder where the strong Shaan who fights for Anokhi was when it was time to stand for Astha and Ss? Liked it when he gave back to BM about ghatiya parvarish but Why does he put the blame of parvarish on BM alone when he was equally to blame?
Honestly, HOW did Anokhi not slap his smug face?
Shaurya says a lot of mean things. Calls her an opportunist and someone without virtue. (So what Shaurya? Her life, her rules?!) He indirectly also accuses her of 'using' him and then switching to the ACP. Its TOXIC AF!. Its ugly. Its a very horrible 'soch' ....all this for what? Because he was jealous? Because she did not acknowledge him? Because the ACP took credit?Honestly, irrespective of what he thought or not, where was his common sense to not say this to a student? Another thing that i noticed was that whatever he says to Anokhi has been said by Tejvilok in milder forms. Clearly a home grown thought process.
Loved how anokhi push him back and told him that it was his soch that was ghatiya! and that she would leave (okay, that was impulsive, but if that is what she wants, then that is it) Honestly, she was so shocked because this hit her out of the blue. She is naive and sees everyone in the good light. Be it ACP or Shaurya. Shaurya was also supposed to be the guy who told her sister to leave her husband, helped her get out of the ragging issue, saved her from goons without knowing it was her, so how could he?
Again, in his office, Shaurya remembers how she Bit** sapped his soch with truth that it was ghatiya and yet he tried to displace his anger ( and the guilt below it which is due to the fact that he knows what he did was wrong but his huge saberwal ego is sitting on it so...) on her again. This is Shaurya's toxic trait. ANGER DISPLACEMENT! He always blames someone else when he is angry. He feels that Anokhi knows that ACP likes her ( Okay, how was this guy dating a woman, he clearly knows jack about women!)
The anokhi AAstha scene...aastha knows her more than her own blood. She hit the nerve quite easily and the advice that was given later , to ensure that Shaurya knows he was wrong, was pretty sound.
Shaan - Shaurya scene, something i personally wanted to happen. I dont think shaurya would have insulted Anokhi here, if Shaan would not have taken her side like an angry protective father. His concern for Anokhi, pi**ed Shaurya off evidently! that almost slap..a little too late? But loved how Shaan gave it back to Devi.
Realized, Shastha can be good and caring parents, they just chose not to be to their son (still salty about the bad parenting part!! ). they too should carry the blame for today.
On the re - watch, this episode raised more questions for me.
1. We know Shaurya does not actually believe anokhi is all this, then why take this line of thought up with her?
2. He stated that he is also 'rich', which makes me think that he felt 'used'...but why? Just because she gave ahir attention?
3. A lot has been said to Anokhi by the Bhatiya's and her own parents. She is really thick skinned. Vineet also accused her of a 'chakkar', but this clearly hurt way more. When she has no feelings she has realized, why did this hurt to the point that she left college? (Its her call, but just a question!)
Side note 1 : The acting in this episode is amazing!!!
Side note 2 : Whoever chose the BG music for the episodes deserves a special appreciation note. The song selection was so good through out the run of the show.
I HATE THIS EPISODE! I've put off watching it long enough. I don't even know how to write a review on it because just typing the dialogues anger me!
Shaurya is despicable! His soch is abhorrent!
His sick and twisted Sabherwal mind accused Anokhi of having "contacts" in high places and going after position and money. He manhandled her multiple times and said "mere choone se tujhe problem ho rahi hai" and made his every touch dirty. He had the audacity to say "I'm quite rich and famous" belittling whatever relationship they had. He called her "loose character" because questioning a girl's character is so easy for society. When she stood up for herself, he took it as "galti tu karti ho aur villain mujhe bana diya" He denigrated a friendship between a guy and girl by telling Anokhi to go and use Ahir's shoulders to cry on. He described Ahir as "bachelor hai, young, dynamic, stable job" then Anokhi's intentions as "try karne me kya jaata hai". I'm not a violent person, but that push wasn't severe enough. He needed a hard slap on the face and a kick in the you know where.
Other than his hurt ego, there is no basis for any of the hateful words that Shaurya spewed. I'm glad Shastha came to know what their child has become due to their neglect. Shaan blamed Shaurya's soch and parvarish and looked at Devi. As much as I think Devi had a hand in brainwashing Shaurya, he is a creation of all the adults that did him wrong. But at the end of the day, he's an adult. Aastha may have failed her own son but she came through for Anokhi. From supporting Anokhi's decision to leave to giving her a place to stay in Kapurthala, Aastha is a better ma'am than she is a mom.
The acting is absolutely amazing in the library scene. KV's voice modulation is perfect. Even the smirk that he delivers some dialogues with makes my blood boil. Deba's face shows the shock and confusion Anokhi experienced so well.
Side notes:
~ Anokhi's decision to leave was too impulsive. Crappy human beings exist everywhere. She should not have let go of her chance at making a life and career for anyone. But I do like that her self-respect holds so much value to her.
~ After the library debacle, Shaurya actually sat there introspecting. Why couldn't he just do that before he turned into an a$$h*le?
~ I really liked the shot of Anokhi and Shaurya turning their backs on each other and walking away with Bol Hu playing. Shaurya's anger was still spilling over, as was Anokhi's hurt.
~ Aastha really wanted Anokhi to confront Shaurya instead of running away. She wanted the wrong doer to face what they had done. She was adamant that running away is not the solution. Then why did she leave her kid behind if she had a strong sense of right and wrong?
Me in purple. I'm probably just going to say ditto to everything 😉

YES!!!! She's strong against everything and everyone until it reaches to Shaurya. Shaan and Aastha are the root to this mess.
She must be realising what has happened to her son du=e to her neglect, Has she ever taken responsibility for what Shaurya said to Anokhi.
I'm not into blaming parents for their children's actions but in this case his gatiya soch was molded at the hands of Devi and Aastha did nothing to prevent that.
Why did Shaurya blow his top?

To all of us, it is so obvious, hence he feels Anokhi is playing around with him and ACP.
This was all about perspective. He placed his own feelings above anyone else. He saw something, he felt something, and then he came to a conclusion on something. He acted like the spoiled rich brat who was denied a toy.
When he touched her arm and she felt hurt, he believed she was repulsed and the words came out,
I am sorry mere choune se toumhe problem horahi hein, surprising even I am quite rich and famous.

Shaurya did something wrong.......started to feel guilty about it........but turned it all around to blame the victim. It seems to be his modus operandi. It's always Anokhi's fault for making him angry, him annoyed....it's all about him!
Finally for once Shaan was the father he should have been all his life and told Shaurya some bitter truths, He is the one with the dirty mind .

@bold: Shaurya is really backwards in his thoughts. He feels something and just explodes, then regrets it but will be unable to apologize. He's a man who has learned no coping skills at all. He never dealt with the disappointment and hurt of his mother leaving and seems to be living a life of repression.
