I will leave - Virat and Sai

I will leave is something that one says when they want an assurance from the other person that they want them. Psychologically, when a person is unsure of whether they are welcomed or when they are not able to believe if they are really wanted, some end up saying they will leave to know what the other person wants.

For instance, when someone visits a person’s house and the host asks them to stay back for a longer period or when they ask them to stay back for the night, the friend or the guest might be unsure if they really mean it and if they are actually okay with it. Some would be very firm saying that they don’t want to stay and disturb them but some who likes the idea/suggestion by the friend, would try to know if they really mean it by asking them again and again.

Virat wasn’t sure if Sai really wanted to meet him even after Ashwini and Samrat told him that Sai was looking for him. As soon as he entered the room too, he wanted to be sure if she wanted to meet him. When she cried, he suggested that he leaves even though he wanted to stay back. He wanted to stay back only if she wanted him to. Again, in the latest episode when Sai started to cry after he made her choti, he was wondering if she was not happy with him doing it all for her and wanted to leave the room if she wasn’t happy with him staying back even after she held his hands and tried to stop him many a times. He wanted to stay with her but also wanted to be sure if that’s what she wanted too. This is in just a few minutes of time that they were together that he has become so doubtful those many times.

When Virat and Sai got married, Virat had told her in clear words as what this marriage means to him and what it would be. He had told her that it is a deal marriage, where he would be taking her responsibility and nothing else. He had clearly said that he can never act as her husband and that she shouldn’t have any expectations from him. He had also shared that he had given a promise to someone else that he will keep her in his heart forever and wouldn’t give that place to anyone else in his life.

And not just this, he shares friendship with the person to whom he had promised. His relationship with her is something that is beyond comprehension to many in the audience who has even heard him tell Pakhi that he has no feelings for her and that he loves Sai. He has a soft corner for his friend and wouldn’t hear a word against her. He would support her even if he doesn’t support his own wife. He would act like her saviour and let her wife get humiliated and harassed by his family. He will team up with the same friend and bully his wife. He will meet his friend at a cafe, hold her hands to console her when she is crying even after he knows what she wants from him.

When Sai had started to see a different Virat, a husband Virat after he got shot and they returned to CN, she started to take some steps towards him forgetting whatever he had told her during their marriage but when she heard what Pakhi spoke at the pool, she took her steps back.

In all this that’s happening, wouldn’t this girl need an assurance? Wouldn’t this girl say that she will leave the house? It was all said so that she gets to know from him that he wouldn’t let her leave. Even after he said that he is not fulfilling any commitment, it was said to hear from him that he needs her and he wants to make the marriage a real one. This is all said because of lack of confidence in their relationship. She wasn’t sure what kind of relationship they were sharing. She wasn’t sure if things have changed and even if he is not fulfilling his commitment, has their equation changed from a deal marriage to a real one. It was to know that he is doing it all because he wants it. She wanted to stay in the house only if he wanted her to. That’s why when he stopped her exercising his liberty as a husband after the pool incident, she felt happy and stayed back since she felt a little confident.

When Virat needed assurance from Sai that she needs him in just a matter of few minutes multiple times, wouldn’t Sai need some assurance from him in one year of time when he has not clearly said anything to tell her that he wants their marriage to last and he wants her to live with him forever. Even after she held his hands to stop him a few times, he was unsure and said that he will leave. Even if he had told once or twice (not in clear words) or through some actions, wouldn’t she be unsure of what the status of their relationship is?

This happens when something that they never expected happens. In Sai’s case, though she wants to stay with Virat, she never expected him to behave in certain ways with her or do certain things for her. After she heard about his commitment and keeps hearing that she is his responsibility, after witnessing his special friendship with his friend who has clearly expressed that she has feelings for him, she is not able to believe and expect that Virat needs her, that Virat would have developed feelings for her and that Virat wants to make their marriage a real one without clarifying the status of the relationship they both share and without clarifying why someone is waiting for him.

It is a psychological way of dealing with something when one is unsure about, when they lack confidence, when they feel insecure. They don’t repeat it to irritate the other person by reminding about it or to taunt the other person but is said to know what the other person actually wants.

Great post. Its sad that Virat refuses to see her insecurities and rather mocks Sai by saying things like "kya karogi, ghar chhod ke jaane ki dhamki dogi...", Or complaining to others saying Sai just wants to leave....

You'd think an ACP would be a tad bit perceptive about WHY she keeps bringing up leaving or WHY she raises pp all the time but no.

Today he even registered Sais reaction when pp came in. It conveyed SO much. Theres really no excuse if even now he cannot see Sais insecurities n do something.

Beautifully written laksh. This reminds me of someone's post on the main forum, believe her username starts with kk , he is like a Ostrich who buries his head and so self absorbed that he doesn't see anyone elses insecurities other than his own.

I however do believe he sees and realizes when Sai is in pain but sometimes decides to leave her in pain like the scenes where him and his bff were taunting Sai, and from his expressions you could tell he knew it was hurting Sai. Only when it comes to Sais insecurities about his relationship with Pakhi is where he mostly acts blind. Here I am going to quote the same user kk again😆 , she said how his image is so important to him that he would rather deny than accept, feel the shame of 2 timing. This seems to be so true in Virats case. He knows Pakhi is vile and continues to pine for him , but he does nothing with the fear of tarnishing his raja beta image.

About Sais insecurities related to their marriage, I truly believe he has an ostrich syndrome and he also believes he has nothing more to clarify. Hoping something concrete comes out of the meeting with the psychiatrist and he understands how much his ex come bff interefeiring in their life is mentally affecting her 🤞. Else I see no use of this track of showing Sai mentally distributed, unable to speak and having a psychiatrist come in to treat her.

Then recently it was 'Ghar chhodne ki dhamki deti ho...' jeeva ek saal se pareshaan ho gaya hu...

Kind of always challenging her...

This man couldn't take a normal friendship between Sai and Ajinkya. She in clear words and actions told him there was nothing and then he had this monologue too where he thinks why can't he let go of his extreme thoughts about them... His insecurities were so high that she landed up in hospital and Ajinkya vanished from the face of the earth.

He is insecure of his own family members whom she cares for/ loves, he is jealous if she praises someone from his family. However, he can praise his ex and compare her with his wife...

Sai is clear that her relationship of his family is because of him, so if no real relationship exist between them, she won't live there but what is stuck in his mind is 'she didn't tell me that she was leaving'.

He can use the SPASHT SHABD he used to propose deal and told about Vaada but for clearing bit just zips his mouth. She should see through his gestures when they are contradicting. He can propose a real marriage when she was in the hospital after serious accident but can't repeat it when she is hale and hearty.
