It is just how Vir is, it's obviously a very unlikable personality trait you can simply hatee him....But insaan kuch bhi kar sakta hai but apni personality nahin badal sakta. Vir has come a long way, he is a changed man. But the writers have always kept this intact in his character that he is hella possessive and that blocks his vision completely. Yeh uska call hai, he has suffered a lot because because of this particular thing in him. People have used it everytime to hurt him.
