As you have said, she might have forever wanted to know who he was with, feeling insecured and jealous for nothing. He would also not be able to behave the way he has been behaving with Sai, showing his authority since Pakhi is not dependent on him like Sai and she also has got a family who would never tolerate if he abuses Pakhi.

They both would have acted like how they acted after Virat’s marriage, trying to act understanding of each other but how long would they have been that way, not sure.

For Virat to be nice to his spouse, his family should be happy with his spouse and his wife should follow the traditions of the house. Kaku is being sweet to Pakhi as you have mentioned just to put down Sai and the same is true with Pakhi too. Pakhi is being this accommodative and sanskaari bahu because she wants to show off that she is better than Sai. Kaku may or may not raise issues since Patralekha has been her choice now but if Virat had proposed to get married to her, then she wouldn’t be looked at Pakhi as her choice, but she would be Virat’s choice.

Even if she complaints about Pakhi, Pakhi might protest the way she protested against Ashwini at the dining table after her marriage. Their friction can irritate Virat and he might start to misbehave with Pakhi too but she wouldn’t take any of it. She would fight him or use her parents as support and warn him. Kaku will then mellow down in the fear and might turn the plates. Lot of things would have been different.

Pakhi and Virat would have tried to let go of many things, tried to make it work but they wouldn’t be actually happy about the other person. Pakhi’s expectations are too high which Virat will come to know later. He would be doing a lot of things initially but would later find it difficult. The same is true for Pakhi. She will see a different Virat when it comes to his family. His expectations from her will be too high and she will feel suffocated.

Pakhi is supporting him now and that too criticising Sai when his Mom, Devi and Samrat are not doing it. She has always run behind him, makes him feel nice by defending him. Virat is protecting Pakhi due to many reasons at the moment.

They both can boost each other’s ego now, but if they were partners, would they have been able to? Would Pakhi be okay with Virat’s expectations and still be this nice/polite the way she is now? Will Virat protect Pakhi the way he is protecting now? Doubt so.

In one of the episodes, Ashwini said you are supposed to give wings to your spouse... Patralekha would try her best to just cut V's wings off, so that he be caged for life with her...

Pakhi is too self absorbent too. She won't bother about other family members. If we see, sai was subjected to abuse because of indulging in other family members matters and not realising/ rejecting V's feelings... Vaada would not have been made... These issues won't be there. However, ninad's genes would have creeped up in Virat from time to time only to be controlled. He couldn't have misbehave with her because of her aai baba.

Kaku won't be that extra sweet to P but she won't be heartless to her too as she is with Sai... Again aai baba factor. Even if P was her choice, kaku would have tried to have a hold on her because of authority.

Again V, P, kaku or any other members would not have lived a life but would have a burden due to fear and P's nature. Bottom line is they won't be happy...

Somehow, I can't envision them to be separated or divorced because of alimony and the fact that they are conservative family, divorces don't happen there, but I can see a friction between mother-son and them and rest of family members, including kaku, with eventual breaking of the couple from the joint family and living together separately.

About V being protective of P, he won't be. Chavan men are protective of their bhabhis, not their wives... 🤣So whoever be Sammy's wife, in that case, would get V's support....
