Hello guys just getting a bit out of context, what do you all think about the book The Cursed Child. Being an avid HP lover, I ignored the reviews and thought to give this book a try thinking it would not disappoint as well.
But in my opinion the existence of this book is kind of a black spot for the series. After finishing it the only thought that came into my mind was to completely forget the existence of this book.
I had read it just after its release & I was just so disappointed that I can't express it in words, Sree. First of all its not a complete story, its just written in the form of a play plus most of the characters behave so out of their own nature. And no strong bonding between the trio is what made me feel terrible after reading it. Plus what is that about Voldemort's child😲The whole book was a total mess & a big disappointment. You know everything must end at a particular point of time & HP ended with DH on a good note. Stretching it unnecessarily & earning on the name of this brand is really disappointing. Plus JKR making contradictory comments post DH was another way of gaining attention which was also disappointing.Originally posted by: Sree0796

Our top 3 favourite scenes from Ch-6 to Ch-13.
This is a tough one. Given that I have more than three favorites, please don't mind if I mention more than three. 😆
1. Need I mention how much I enjoyed reading the rivalry scenes between Harry and Draco. Well not just Harry and Draco, Draco also bullied Ron, Neville and Hermione. I will mention two rivalry scenes that stood out for me: 1. When Draco thought he could get Harry punished for owning a broomstick, but nothing happened. Instead Harry gave him a classic snarky reply by telling Flitwick that Draco was the reason he owned a broom, sounding it like a thank you. 2. When Ron snapped at Draco's comment, wrestled with him and gave him a black-eye while the Quidditch final was going on. Even Neville joined in and singlehandedly tussled with Crabbe and Goyle. It was heartrending to see the boys standing up for themselves in front of their bullies.
@Bold: That part was just too good. Where Draco thought he was successful in getting Harry punishment, Harry got a new broomstick & that too before Draco.
2. The Friendship: Nothing defines the friendship between Harry and Ron better than this:
“What is a wizards duel?” said Harry. “And what do you mean, you’re my second?”
“Well, a second’s there to take over if you die,” said Ron casually, getting started at last on his cold pie.
The way Ron mentioned dying while casually enjoying a cold pie, I laughed my heads off.😆 Ron is exactly the kind of friend Harry needed by his side to fight back Voldemort. He is brave, loyal, fierce when necessary, and he will not think twice before risking his life for his friend. Not that Harry was thinking about dueling with Voldemort in the scene, it was just Draco.
I am tempted to mention another scene over here. How Harry and Ron saved Hermione from the troll, and cemented their friendship. Harry was exceptionally brave. Ron showed a perfect presence of mind, and performed Wingardium Leviosa exactly how Hermione had explained. Last but not the least, Hermione lied to the teachers to save the boys from detention.
@Bold: Yeah couldn't agree more with you, Tia ❤️❤️Ron is the friend Harry needed the most. Harry & Ron's friendship is the best & most important thing in the whole series. Many people ignore Ron's importance in Harry's life by bringing & comparing it with Hermione. Ron is the person from whom both Harry & Hermione knew about various stuffs about wizarding world & families. He made both of them as a part of his big family. One can never judge about Ron's loyalty, bravery & brilliant sense of humour based on what the movies shown or what happened before Triwizard Tournament or during Horcrux hunting time.
3. Dumbledore and Harry's conversation about the Mirror of Erised.
It was so heartrending to see Harry yearning for his mum and dad. It was only natural, since the poor boy could never truly experience the love of his parents in the way most children do. (He experienced their love in different ways, like his mother's protection.) His longing was so pronounced that he came back for the third time to look at his parents and family in the mirror.
I am particularly touched how Dumbledore made Harry understand to not rely on illusions in his search for lasting happiness. Dumbledore understood love and loss. He understood how Harry felt, and he made him understand the reality with such simplicity and ease. I loved the lines where Dumbledore said how the mirror gave neither knowledge or truth, and only drove people mad in their desire for what they wanted. The description of the happiest man on earth is a profound description. It is also a beautiful foreshadow of what will happen when Harry faces the mirror once again, in the end of the book.
@Bold: Yeah Harry always yearned for a happy family & sadly he never get any properly. The Mirror of Erised scene is my favourite too & how Dumbledore explained Harry everything was too good.
