I feel in many ways they both have their teen selves still trapped inside them. The one who is not sure, insecure about all they are feeling. She as a teen had way too much going on in her life. I don't really blame her for not been able to read anything into his feelings. And he in his anxiety about hiding his brush with desire, probably ended up giving the wrong vibes too. Which others exploited. The adult Kirti and Nishit need to interact one on one now, putting aside all their notions from the past, if they have to move forward in having a relationship. She's probably a late bloomer where desire is concerned. Not a surprise when one is trying to hold your head above water, then that is probably the last thing on one's mind. And he needs to get off couches and start using that brain of his!

Very well said, P! Kirti cannot be blamed for not understanding his feelings. For one, he did come across as reserved, even if he had his reasons. And later, like you pointed out, her opinions were mostly painted by others, mostly Tejas. She had buried her feelings deep inside her, which didn't really swim to surface until very recently. "And she thought she was in love with Tejas" This was what went through her mind when she saw Aahana with Nishit. She was never in love with anyone but Nishit, but the realization came a bit too late.

Nishit should stop playing the victim if he wants (and has the courage) to change things. He cannot keep sulking anymore. Life is giving him a second chance. If he doesn't grab it this time, he's the only one to blame
