"Vaishnav jan toh" by PD at today's India Today function. He did a better job of his Bangla and Marathi pronunciations than he has been able to manage for Gujarati in this song. Either he didn't have enough time to prepare or he didn't get the right guidance.

For Vaishnav Jan toh he souds okay, but his pronunciations are not spot on. In the 3rd song of this video he is going off key and it seems he has some issues with the music accompaniment. We can barely hear the music and even he keeps looking at them and trying to indicate something.

PD's a black belt in Karate. This seems to be an old video but he does seem to be a bit out of practice.

This makes it appear that my earlier conjecture that PD had some issue with the music must have been correct. Here we can see that he has himself taken over the keyboard and everything seems to be in tune now.
