The majority of forum members being women, why questions on clothes are being normalized? In India, most women wear nightgown in their house, its not sexual guys, you see what you want to see. There was no sexually provocative scene in the show with reference to the nightgown, this is your thinking about women in nightgown

If someone wants to go out and wear her night suit on road, its her life and her decision, you are women, how come none sees a problem with this kind of questions on clothes? Are we so low in our hate?

I wouldn't have made this post because I don't care about people who think they can dictate women but the sl*t shaming and the support for it, I witnessed on this forum was horrifying.

We are women, If we are going to promote this line of thought how can we expect others to understand that our clothes do not suggest anything about our characters? How does one LOOK LIKE A HARLOT?

Worst part being this has been there for 3 hours with 6 members loving it and only ONE against it.

Bottom line - People can wear whatever the Ef they want to wear, your clothes are not representation of your character, flimsy dress is way better than cheap mentality

3 hours and really none thought it was wrong to sl*t shame

I think I am done with this forum

The user has mentioned that Pakhi looks a certain way. Sorry to say, but the fictional character Pakhi is behaving exactly in this manner. She is expressing that she wants to start a married life with her husband, but wants to wear certain clothes to get noticed by her ex. She openly suggested to her ex some time back that she would stay wherever he "keeps" her, in whichever manner he "keeps" her. If this mentioned Aishwarya, then the comment would have been wrong. But when a character is shown to be dressing up or behaving in a certain manner to attract attention from men other than her husband, the viewers are going to take it in that way.

Can you share the episode number where Pakhi was shown to dress in a certain manner in order to entice Virat in reference to her current look on the show? I watch the show and there have been zero comments on show with reference to her clothes, they didn't make a point to highlight her clothes as provocative, they didn't suggest anything. Even if she wore something to entice someone, how is sl*t shaming, okay?

The show, however regressive it is, didn't stoop down low enough to show that women wearing night gown was provocative or sexual, the woman met various family members without her clothes being point of discussion, sadly her clothes have been discussed here in the worst way possible, it is entirely thought process of people who say it because there wasn't a single scene

Yes. Women shouldn't be shamed for what they wear. These norms on what to wear and how to wear it appropriately has held back women for ages. Its bizarre. Wardrobe choices shouldn't be up for discussion and I am with you on this but

Pakhi as a character wants an EMA at this point from her brother in law. She dresses up in his favorite color. A monologue yesterday said that she wants to dress in pink because that is Virats favorite color. She wore a pink saree to the cafe. She wore a pink gown to Virat-Sai's bedroom yesterday. She dreams of sitting in his lap and dancing. She wants to be kept as a slave by him. She wants his brother in law and her to be "Hum" in every sense. The color choices and references of it through monologues has made sure the dressing is deliberate. The judgement on a woman who wants to entice her brother in law and wants to be his slave is natural. Nobody judged anyone else's clothing in the show. Shivani for that matter is fashionably dressed and I love the wardrobe too. Did we find anyone judging her? No. Not everything is because members hate a particular character. Certain judgments are inevitable when you have loose morals and attempts to pursue immoral relations. That is not s*ut shaming. If the woman while participating in an auspicious pooja as part of her marital life decides to dress up in the favorite colour of her Devar that warrants a judgment.

Looks like a harlot is not sl*t shaming?

Anyway, I anticipated there will be support for this line of thought because none actually had the problem with constant remarks on her clothes and the sl*t shaming, and there will further normalization of it in name of limiting it to a character. She wants to dress in pink but looks like a harlot was for nightgown not for her wishing to wear pink for Virat and even then sl*t shaming is wrong. Period

[/QUOTE)

Quoting your post "If someone wants to go out and wear her night suit on road, its her life and her decision, you are women, how come none sees a problem with this kind of questions on clothes? Are we so low in our hate"

Your post made it seem like a regressive issue that women here oppose and shames others for their wardrobe choice. My response clearly said why a judgment arises. If someone wants to go out they can wearing whatever. In the forum nobody opposed it. But the judgement comes for Pakhi. Had this been any character I myself would have opposed it. One would be forced to question the choice of her clothes when she dresses up for her brother in law. Yesterday's scene was sexually provocative and monologue clearly indicated that. So its not hate. And I condemn the word harlot but doesnt change the fact that she has loose morals. There is victim blaming that happens regularly on the forum and its horrifying and nobody opposes it sadly. But I would disagree with sl*t shaming because it is not .And judgment on clothing arises because of her behavior.

Seems you edited the post. I don't know what was the reference of nightgown or anything, I am not an active member but I don't agree that remarks on Pakhis clothing when she intentionally dresses up for BIL is s*ut shaming nor does it normalize it. My issue was you too her example to generalize the forum perpetuating s*ut shaming when it really isn't. Rest concerned ones can anwer

Yes . i agree that's sl*t shaming...pakhi is obsessed and lusty for virat...but looks like a harlot...what does that mean ? Is there some specific looks attributed to them ? a woman being a prostitute can be her compulsion or choice...either that degrading is not fine...pakhi has a sick mentality...but there was no indication of pakhi wearing a night gown with an intention...so as to entice either virat or samrat in the episode i guess...
