Good timing. Bangladesh just sent truckloads of hilsa fish as paid Puja gift to Didi. Maybe she was made aware, hence the urgency to go back home. 🤣

Is hilsa- that good, never tried it. Don't know if we get it here in north - I almost always have tuna, rohu, sometimes pomfret. Ya singhara and sole too. Love fish.

There was some discussion yesterday about reposting Rock On Music stories about Canada. True to expectations, Arunita has posted between 12 AM and 1 AM 😆

It is to those who are used to the taste. But it is a very bony fish and tough for those used to boneless or large boned fish. It may not be readily available in markets in the north, though these days the fish is frozen and stored for months. So it is often shipped to distant markets for those who yearn for it. :) Same way you get your pomfret and tuna which are seawater catch. Your fresh catch is likely the other 3 species you mention.

Especially for Moonandstars - quintessential Arunita Kanjilal or Raka to those who can call her by that name 😃

No photo description available.

This is the angry look of a sleep-deprived person who has been woken up from deep sleep!

By the way, is Raka a common pet name in WB? I have never heard that one before.

🤣

This is morning picture though but well after wakey wakey! 😃

This is her standard off-camera expression.

It will take years to wipe this off.

It is a fairly common name. Used both as proper first name as well as pet name (as in this case).
Means "full moon"

Google tells me that it is ranked some 7,000th among common Indian names. I know it is popular in Bengal.

You are right, I have seen some of these also. Could be that, sometimes she is aware, that she is being clicked, so, is just a little irritated with that. But then, I have seen (in videos) these expressions even when she was a kid.

Interesting. Can you paste it in Bangla script here, so that I can get a sense of how it is actually pronounced?
