Because a) Navratri is celebrated in a really grand way in Gujarat, much grander than anywhere else in India. A nine night dance festival is held. I don't think anywhere else in the world there is a dance function running for that long. It is one of the things Gujarat is famous for, celebrating Navratri.

b) Navratri is mainly about celebrating the various avatars a devi and hence, a woman has. And given Anupamaa show is mainly about the importance and acceptance of the identity of a woman, I think that making the actor do this would make much more sense.

But I have no doubt that Neil would be pretty great too.

I think, right now Virat is at his lowest of low... conscience wise.....He has disrespected his wife , abused her, harassed her and victim blamed her...without an ounce of guilt...Not the right time for him to promote Devi Durga... Ofcourse the show you mentioned is very high on a woman fighting for herself, so she should have been the face... But for Virat , any other other festival, when he becomes a better version but not right now, Devi represents women...all forms of women..so I dont think Virat is the right character to host that show..... My opinion.. Not the channel's though 😆

Neil however looks tired.. But great to see him hosting the show...

There is a very small difference between Durga Puja and Navratri

But Navratri is specifically a Gujarati festival and I didn’t say Gujarat’s don’t celebrate Lori or Baisakhi

It’s India man every festival all Indians celebrate together

I beg to differ set is of Durga pooja not for Navratri.

If I m right gujrati do kalash stapna pooja in navratri , even my family do same this thing.

Neil Bhatt is a gujrati

Yes in india every festival is celebrated together.

Exactly my point..

He is in lowest point... I don't think anyone would like to see him hosting such auspicious celebration..

If Neil is hosting the show, then great. Good going. Good to see that the leads of the show are being given their rightful due.

If it's Virat hosting the show, then I would like to say that charity begins at home. Pehle ghar ki saari auraton ko respect karna seekho, not just your Bhabhi. Doesn't suit him to talk about women empowerment when his actual behaviour is the total opposite of it.

And to be honest , ITV audience are not very good at separating reel from real character especially those TRP Aunties and frankly me too(sorry can't help it due to his recent on screen and offscreen activities).

Hence if Neil is hosting the show ,most of them will actually see him as Virat hosting the show .

And right now the way Virat is being portrayed ,forget about respecting woman he doesn't even respect humans.

Trust me he just boils my blood and it's coming from someone who used to have a huge crush on him.

That's why doesn't feel right for him to host the show. Its just my POV.

However Anu aunty ,she has really grown from a doormat to an independent woman .She really is an inspiration.

Hence she would have been a better choice for hosting this show.

But anyways it's good for him that he is hosting.

Strictly my pov.

Exactly.. if it is Neil then it is a good thing. Neil and Ayesha deserve the recognition they are getting. But if it is Virat, then it is wrong. A man like Virat has no right to host a show about goddess Durga. This man cannot respect his wife, let his mother and sister get abused for years and now is physically manhandling his wife without an ounce of regret. A man like him should stay as far away as possible from gods and goddesses.

Navratri is very important for us in Karnataka also. Its our state festival. How can Navratri be made into something regional! So from all your perspective they should bring some one from our state to host this. This is our naada gabba!!

See its common knowledge that the ML is butchered mercilessly to glorify FL in ITV shows! So why hold an actor or character responsible for this. This is what the audience want and they are being fed that. That's it!!

I watched part of Ganapathy festival. It was Sai hosting, not Ayesha, as per the subtitles. So your points are valid. I don’t think many in this forum will question that Neil is hosting a show. He absolutely should. It is about the appropriateness of having Virat host a show about Navaratri, when it is usually in praise of Devi. The top show FL definitely suits it better, because her journey is the journey of a woman. Of course, it just makes sense to have the Ghum ‘leads’ do it because they seem to be the ones with the least screen space 🤔
