And why on earth does HR have to open every song???? Plus I am starting to dislike that larger-than-song picture of himself that he imposes on the opening visual. Does he think that the only reason that these songs succeed is his shadowy presence? The public should teach him a lesson one day!

He doesn't have any recent chart buster or success in Bollywood..this is his chance for publicity😃

Main thing is what are these singers getting from it - money??---- I remember, when in early 2000's Akshay Kumar was not doing well - a journalist asked him - why is he doing only B grade films. He answered- don't care what grade, B or C films I am doing as long as I am working in films - and look where he is now. So, maybe it's good to keep singing.

For fame and name recognition as artists! No pennies being offered here I think.

Fame and recognition, as Realityshow said, and to build their discography. Remember it is most likely that all of this was agreed and probably even recorded while they were still just contestants at Indian Idol. All said and done, HR is still considered one of the big music directors in Bollywood. I am sure there are many many artists who are wiling to work free for him just to get that tag of an HR song.
