But my issue here is different. Why taking pallu over head is called regressive. I also take pallu over my head, whenever my in-laws visit us or we visit them. But I am not regressive and my in-laws are also not regressive. I do it to show respect to them. Yes, I can show respect to them by doing other things also. But Still I do it because I know how much they value it. It is totally a personal choice. Nobody can force me to take the pallu, but I chose to do it. How can it be regressive.

Sorry if i hurt your feelings ! Glad to know that you do it purely out of respect! I am seeing ladies around me who is taking palla only because of mother in law's fear and i find it very regressive to force someone to do it without their will/wish.

Regressive word is only for those who force/expect from their bahu/beti to act in certain way!

I think you got me wrong Sweet Tania. . Jana ki had posted that to make Vanraj envious at what he lost Anupama has to dress in different clothes. My point was it was not change of clothes that us required for him to be envious.

As Surabhi pointed out it is more in her change of outlook that I think the CVs should concentrate.

She did not stand twiddling her fingers in the cafe when Vanraj was insulting her, she pointed out that his ego was prompting him to take decisions that made no business sense. From someone who shi v ered at his glares to defy his diktats and speak up for herself is progress. Ones outlook is defined by choices be it life decisions or personal decisions like clothes. One has to dress whatever one feels comfortable in. If Capri is comfortable wear it but don't wear it everywhere!

I agree with you that it should not be forced. It should be completely a personal choice.

You have taken everything in wrong context !

Lol It’s was never about western cloth, it’s all about evolving with time , that’s it!

I am seeing ladies around me who is taking palla only because of mother in law's fear and i find it very regressive to force someone to do it without their will/wish.

Ofcourse I am calling all those people regressive who forces their bahu /beti to live and wear clothes in certain way only! And I will continue to call them regressive because this is not we women deserve and we are not anyone’s kathputli jo society and sasural wale decide karege ki palla rakhna hai ki nahi , suits pehenne hai ki nahi , evolve hone ka freedom milega ki nahi!

Sirf Aj nai har jahah main unn sab logo ko pichda hua bolugi ji ki wajah se women balika vadhu banti hai, jinki wajah se women ki life saree and pale mai bandh kar reh jati hai , jinki wajah se women ghar ke bahar apna astitva nahi bana paati hai ! Yeh sab mere liye bahot zyada regressive, pichde hue hai and rahege !

Regarding saree , as it’s cleared numerous times that nobody called saree is bad thing here so I will not give justification more on it .
