I think the frst thing that needs to be done is have a fixed limited no of episodes, the story they intend to tell in the beginning or atleast pretend to gets a logical conclusion nd then no need arises to bring unnecessary stuff to drag the story....thry can bring further seasons ofcourse if audience demands...i guess 1 yr is an optimum run time for any show

Yes definately all ITV shows need to be finite which would gurantee quality of content n even quality of work by artists as over a longer period of time artists tend to get stagnant n repetetive.
