That’s the single biggest point of difference between Adi and Imlie that was highlighted in this episode too. If it comes to it, Imlie will walk away from Adi, but no matter what happens, there’s nothing she can do to convince him to give up on her. 😆 Have to give it to Adi here, that’s deep lubb. Even if the faith is running too low these days. 😡

Look at what’s happening now, for instance. They are standing on the opposite sides of a legal battle over his best friend’s actions, yet study his body language… 😆 The man is so calm and centered now that Imlie’s around him. Somewhere deep down, despite all of his tall claims that he’s guilty, he’s happy and relieved that Imlie believes in him, and she’s even willing to fight him for him. 😆 Even if tomorrow say hypothetically Imlie loses and Malini’s proved innocent, he will do everything he can to make sure Imlie stays with him while giving two hoots to his gehri dost, as if nothing happened… 🤣

Yes that is there and I feel this is what makes them different.

Adi's love for Imlie and Imlie's love for Adi - both are deep but different. Imlie's love is something which I believe has matured or developed over the span of time. It's something that has spent it's major part sailing through pain - of non acceptance, of being one sided, of being forbidden and impossible. Her love has always been independent of his presence in their relationship. She has grown in love without him being involved in it.

Adi's love though has evolved with her always been there. He was drawn to her when he first saw her. And his love deepened seeing her, hearing her, being with her. That's why when she left, he felt rattled and completely shook. His life resides within her and while she can leave him, he cannot. His love for her is interwoven with her essence and her presence while hers has always been independent of him.

Just loved the way you analyzed them.

A one-sided love that never had any expectations and a life that never allowed gave her things the easy way. That is Imlie.

A character whose values and ego were always the core traits that survived taking a beating and allowed him to look at that one-sided love and reciprocate.

The beauty of these two characters and the chemistry is what worked for this story always.
