Anyone with an iota of business sense would have known to choose a Tamil heroine -maybe even a newbie if they wanted the film to be accepted in Tamil Nadu. The director and the rest of the cast and crew could be from anywhere. But the face of Jayalalitha has to be Tamil. And c'mon it's time for a new face from South India to be in Bollywood after Deepika.

Jaya wanted Aishwarya to play her. Ash already played a version of Jayalalithaa in Iruvar. It would have been fitting to see her in the role.

Ash could have managed the latter day Jayalalitha in grace, dignity and sheer arrogance. But she could not have played the teenage Jaya either. Yes, Samantha and Family Man are on my radar.
