Emraan or Himesh - Who was more popular?

Himesh Reshammiya and Emraan Hashmi were so synonymous to each other in 00s, because of Himesh doing playback for Emraan in so many of his songs and films.

Kids used to confuse between the two. Himesh songs were a rage back then, even though they haven't aged well. Singers usually don't get too much popularity in Bollywood, but some of them do break this barrier and end up having loads of fans. Himesh was one of them.

Talking about Emraan, he had a cult fan following, because of doing films nobody else was doing. He made kissing and sex scenes acceptable in Bollywood.

Who according to you had more fans in their prime? Emraan or Himesh?

In 2007, Aap Ka Suroor and Awarapan released on the same date.

Aap Ka Suroor won that clash. Himesh Reshammiya's film got more number of screens during release, got a bigger opening and had higher lifetime collections despite Awarapan being a much better film.

Himesh beat Emraan in his own game here. But Emraan's peak came later on with Jannat, Murder 2 and Raaz 3.

Himesh. He ruled that era. Emraan Hashmi was recognized because he was there in most of HR's songs.
