The silliest line of an entirely silly episode was Jaya expressing faith that Śrī Kṛṣṇa would not allow any calamity (like Raghav shooting Mandar and going to prison/gallows for it) on his birthday. If she had invoked any other deity, fine, have faith, but Śrī Kṛṣṇa? Does Jaya know what happened while Śrī Kṛṣṇa was alive? There was the Mahābhārata War, in which many mothers lost their sons.
One of those mothers was known as Gāndhārī (the woman from the Gandhāra country, now part of Afghanistan), and Jaya might want to read what that grieving mother had to say to Śrī Kṛṣṇa.
tataḥ kopa-parīt'āṅgī putra-śoka-pariplutā
jagāma Śauriṃ doṣeṇa Gāndhārī vyathit'endriyā
Gāndhāry uvāca
Pāṇḍavā Dhārtarāṣṭrāś ca drugdhāḥ Kṛṣṇa parasparam
upekṣitā vinaśyantas tvayā kasmāj Janārdana
śaktena bahu-bhṛtyena vipule tiṣṭhatā bale
ubhayatra samarthena śruta-vākyena caiva ha
icchato'pekṣito nāśaḥ Kurūṇāṃ Madhu-sūdana
yasmāt tvayā mahā-bāho phalaṃ tasmād avāpnuhi
Then the woman from Gandhāra, her body filled with fury, submerged in grief for her sons, her senses distressed, found fault with Śūra's grandson. The woman from Gandhāra said: "Kṛṣṇa, the sons of Pāṇḍu and the sons of Dhṛtarāṣṭra made enemies of each other. Why did you ignore them as they perished, causing distress to the people? You were capable, with many servants and a vast army awaiting your command; certainly, you had influence on both sides and they listened to your advice. By choice you ignored the ruin of the Kuru family, conqueror of the Madhu family! Large-armed man, you will suffer for that."
Mahābhārata, Strīparvan, chapter 25, verses 35-38
Happy Kṛṣṇa-janmā'ṣṭamī to everybody! Let's not use God as an excuse to shirk our responsibility to comfort and guide each other.
