Before people come here and say dont judge by precap.....let me clarify before hand I am not judging the story by the precap but just the one scene

Pallavi said she would burn her hand ......so that she doesnt hv to sign the divorce papers or put thumb print on them ? Are the writers serious ? What century do they think Pallavi actually lives in ? Do they even check legally how divorce gets done ? Doesnt one actually have to file a divorce and no third person can actually do it. And even if she signs it ....cant she communicate it to Raghav ? Dont they even have that much communication between them ?

Why is signing being treated as such a sin that she has no other optn but to feel like she has to burn her hands . Its like telling all those girls who feel that its their beauty dt is at fault when creeps harass them ..that they are right . There are real incidents where girls have harmed their own faces to prevent harassment from creeps. This scene is unknowingly promoting such things. Such things are sensitive and writers dont take it into account how they are affecting and influencing such young minds.

From such progressive relationship standards on itv to such regressive content. Utterly disappointing

Even if they both sign the divorce papers

Look at the groundsnin which divorce is being asked that too from Raghav's side

They have to go to the magistrate

Magistrate speak with them in closed chambers

There they can tell their circumstances

Magistrate will help out and being in some provisions to delay

They have to do the final sign in front of the magistrate

Kitna lamba procedure hai

First of all Raghav will have to prove her characterises Ye hone se raha

Exactly there are literally so many ways to go about it and the only plan Pallavi could think of is burning her hands ???

Are they trying to promote self harm on itv ? Pallavi is supposed to an inspiration for young widows but the writers are buthering her character by such stupidity.

Honestly I dont expect ITV shows to give dt good a content but I do expect a lil bit of sensibilty at the least in dealing wid such things.

Agreed - self-harm to avoid divorcing Raghav shouldn't even be a thought. Just like when Raghav was telling Pallavi that she would have to marry him, she said, "If you talk to me like this again, I swear to God I'll kill myself and you'll be responsible." And now Raghav has said to Pallavi, "If you talk like that again, I'll murder you myself."

All such dialogues and scenes that romanticize the idea that "If he can't have her, no one can" are regressive and the creative team should be ashamed to do this for drama.

More generally, I think it's silly for Pallavi and Raghav to get so worked up about her chastity. Pallavi's drinking tea with her ex-husband and wearing bangles that he gifted, having lunch with him, sharing a living space with him, missing an awards ceremony ... if any of this is a betrayal, Raghav should either end the relationship or forgive Pallavi because he loves her anyway. He won't accomplish anything by acting out. And if Pallavi has stupidly decided that she needs to convince Mandar that she loves him, then why not burn Raghav's photo, massage Mandar, eat from his plate, and playfully snatch the saree pleats out of his hands? Not to say that she shouldn't feel icky, just that in a life-or-death situation, it isn't wrong to let the aggressor have his way and compromise your chastity so that you survive.

Even if the divorce is being filed as Mutual consent. There would be 6 months cool off period, mediation, counselling, then the people have to be present in the court before a judge usually 2 times. All Raghav has to do is pay a small bribe of say 10k to ask the judge or counsellor to adjourn the case. Every adjournment they can get 2 months 🙄. Usually people have to pay up to move the file or speed up process, delaying happens for free 😂

Totally agree wid you. All these dialogues are romanticize self harm or harm in general. Writers need to be more conscious abt the msg they are sending out. The fan base of this show is mostly young audience and sending such msges their way is so so wrong. Sign the divorce papers and may be burn dem later or something.......why even consider buring your hands for dt ??? Simply beyond my understanding.

@ bold : True these arent betrayal. But then the scenario was a bit different. They were not on the same page regarding Mandar and der was lack of communication. Also it was more abt disregard for her present husband and inlaws than betrayal.

But now since they both are on the same page and know that Mandar is doing all this , then why cant they just communicate and solve things rather than thinking of destructive ways.

I agree wid your take on compromising in a life or death situation . There are many real life incidents to support this. But to each his own. Whether one wants to fyt back or not is one's personal choice. Either of which I am fine wid. But here there is no literal life or death situation.

And as you rightly said.....yesterday Pallavi could hv just snatched away her pleats in a playful way. That would hv made more sense . In the picture burning scene she chose to revolt whereas in the pleat scene she chose not to resist and give away her plan. Very contradictory. Inconsistencies in writing mainly.
