Disclaimer - My dislike for a character is credited to the character sketch, and the itch to FF is due to the poor enacting of the same. But today, I managed to watch the entire episode after a break of 2 weeks and ironically have something to write on her as well. Strictly focusing on the character!!
Sorry for the long post. Too much happened in today’s episode and it was the first I watched fully in 2weeks.
1. The family scene – Though everyone didn’t praise Sai, at least no one counter argued to the good things spoken about her. That was a first. The only tolerable people Mohit, Mansi, Ashwini & the new entry in the club Ninad. Mansi is so understanding that she agrees to let her son choose his path. She is content as long as, she knows that he is fine and happy. Ashwini trying to diffuse the tension and showering her love on him. This scene was to give a glimpse on the current stand of Samrat & Patralekha after the previous night confrontation to the family. It was also intended at not just strengthening the impression of Sai that Samrat has already but also on the doubt around the deep concealed love of Sai & Virat for each other. My only doubt here was Samrat knows Virat likes Sai and has moved on, then why was he doubting that he is attached to Patralekha still, during his conversation with Virat yesterday. (All other arguments by him can be justified). Patralekha’s concern when Sai mentioned that Virat was unwell, was only related to his well being or the fear of not being able to execute her master plan?
2. Sai & Virat Conversation – “I feel uncomfortable”. OUCH!! That pinched. Well anything but uncomfortable. That’s how they have been so far, even during the lowest low of their lives. So when he said that, it hurt her. But it was only an extension of how she had made him feel. That she was uncomfortable with all that he does for him. “Sachai” – For a moment the mask was down and the lover bouy got carried away while praising his wife. Sai asking him to accept the truth..the truth that he loves Patralekha! And face it the way it is. I know people may see it otherwise, but I felt that she wanted Virat to finally accept as he has always evaded the question. This mess is Virat’s doing. Period. He has never tried to clear the confusion all this while and has expected Sai to understand it through his gestures. But has she also not been hung on that one statement he said a year ago? All his gestures post that disregarded. She has noticed that Virat maintained distance from Patralekha, he didn’t use words to explain, but she understood. The problem here is that she has engraved that deal statement in her mind like it’s the predominant rule of their relationship. Patralekha’s actions are louder and her jealousy evident, and Sai only reads into that. And it seems more logical and natural to her than the affection of Virat. Hence, she doesn’t read him. She needs to understand they are two different people and that’s how they need to be seen…individually. You can’t accuse or pass your judgement on Virat based on Patralekha’s actions.
3. Elders Vs Samrat – Wow what a family!! Till now Patralekha and Virat’s past was not completely known and a mere doubt that they had since Sai often brought it up. But Samrat’s revelation has confirmed it, and yet they are refusing to accept it. And what has Patralekha done for the family so far, apart from helping in planning plotting against Sai, arguing with her and serving them CHAI? Sai has barely been acknowledged for all that she has done, infact she has always been criticized instead. Now they should be able to see the intent begin her past actions more clearly, but here they go all gaga about her. Hypocrisy and biasness at its highest!! And finally Samrat voiced the question we have been asking. “Despite knowing everything why are they acting ignorant?”
4. Virat & Patralekha – How she walks into someone’s room without knocking like she is out on a stroll? Susheel bahu ko koi manners to sikhao. And then casually looking around to ensure that she has no other audience before she ups her game. “Mujhe pata chala tumhari tabiyat theek nahi hai”. Really? If you knew that, and were concerned about his health, why would you request for a private meeting outside? Would you not want him to rest instead? Virat was shocked as well as scared to see her. Shocked at her audacity and scared that someone would misinterpret. His hesitation in continuing with the conversation was evident. She used the master weapon, the victim card – “Sab log hamein alag nazar se dekhne lage hain” Kaun sab log? Most of them are still rooting “Hail Patralekha”!! And she made her stance pretty much clear to Samrat, then what is she worried about? Cunning lil foxy!! Galat ilzam? Aur kya galat bacha hai ma’am? Please explain. Oh sorry the poor guy and audience don’t know the intent yet. We have not yet seen the precap and he hasn’t arrived on the date. So we are to believe her innocence as she is really in a problem and seeking help! But Veeru ka dimag bhi beemar hai. So he agreed. Because his brother is not listening to him, and he is not talking to his wife. So “jo mil jaaye usi se baat kar loon”. In his defense, he genuinely wants to help Patralekha as he somewhere feels guilty for her state. He also wants to sort this out for Samrat as well, as he is not giving him the opportunity to explain. So he agrees, without thinking that it could be suicidal. Stupid move I must say! But who am I? When he asked “Samrat se baat ki”, I actually thought he was checking if she informed him about their meeting..But BAM!
5. Sai, Virat & Patralekha – Why are you shocked and giving that accusing look to Patralekha girl. Where you not planning on uniting Patralekha & Virat, and now knowing that Samrat wants to divorce her, why are you complaining. The look Sai had, her words and her expressions (restrained anger). Only if she knew that her husband in love her, she would have smacked this woman.
6. The last liner from Patralekha “Yeh kamra bhi tumhara hai aur yahaan par rehne wala insaan bhi tumahara hai” Well before I comment on it wanted to draw a parallel with Ladakh sequence, when Patralekha gets to know that Virat disconnected her call to speak to Sai and she says that Sai can study and do whatever she wants once she and Virat leave for Ladakh. My Take on both these scenes, Patralekha was mocking Sai for her ignorance of her intent and plan. She is privately relishing thinking about the success of her plan and Sai’s downfall. “You don’t know what awaits you” kind of look. But this was also to gauge Sai & Virat’s relationship status, their MU and her slight smile said she got her answer.
Precap!!!! – So the makers successfully fooled us, or did they really hear us? Last week we thought that “Mission Whitewash” was in progress and Patralekha is being redeemed. But now she is out there scheming to get her turu lub
Bhavani you have been fooled all this while. Patralekha doesn’t love you, she has only used you as her trump card in her game. Can someone record and play the “Sarvagun sampan, acchi bahu’s golden words said to Virat to Bhavani. I’m sure even then she will say that its past now. Delusional Patralekha, what will it take for you to understand that he doesn’t love you anymore? For me the confusion around whether she intended an EMA, this is the answer..Yes she was. And she thought that Virat was holding back on moral grounds only to honor her marriage to his brother. So now that Samrat is ready to divorce her, Virat should not have a problem accepting their relationship. She is so desperate, in fact I think she was actually relieved with Samrat’s return and revelation, because now she sees a hope in uniting with Virat. Her wicked mind had already started to strategize and draft out the perfect plan. This scene is as pukeworthy for me as the sniffing one. Can someone please get her medical help, she is throwing the vibes of a Physcho!! She lured him to the café with her pity state and now she will throw her cards. Disgusting!! I so wish that Samrat is able to make Sai understand things in proper light. And I feel there will be a flicker of hope, but that will die down the moment she sees them at the café. Only if the sequence changed and this conversation happens after the Café kaand. But then that is too much to hope. This is why Sai will be more hurt this time, because she has dared to hope and here she will see all off it die!!
