Debate ki reasons are only because writer did not give any depth to Mahi, otherwise obviously since Farhad has continuously said that he did see a spark and he did feel her having something for him, then it was true indeed, no matter what he thinks of it now, his initial instincts were right. Even in 11th episode Mahi said that she understands why he loves her because he saw Lahore's Mahi and she could be his if this faltu jagirdari would not come in between.

Wahi toh, Mahi and Farhad, they are innocent but come on, Farhad is not brain dead, like everyone made him feel like he is deranged and deluded while he was not, he genuinely saw some kind of hints and attraction from Mahi which Mahi also did not deny, she only said that she did not promise anything which was true, but even he did not claim any promise but the feeling of being in love only, he did not go their to marry her too, wanted to confess and then may be try to figure out a way, for him any jagirdari would fall short if Mahi would've said yes.

Well did u notice till now farhad is bitter still restless but when he wear blacks clots & took baba sai position uske chehre per sukoon aa jata hai .ost me dikhta hai
